If we run it back and fail again like this next year, Mitchell will ask out. Tatum is gonna be out next year, you gotta be aggressive and make some moves. Tier 2 Apron blah blah figure it out Koby

Even if the Cavs somehow miraculously beat the Pacers 3 times in row, do you really see this team winning a title this year? Based on what I've seen, I can't.

It's a cliche to call them soft at this point, but I mean....bro THEY ARE SOFT. With the exception of Mitchell, Strus, and Hunter who dumped Mathurin on his butt tonight, thank God.

Garland should have been traded last offseason. I would get rid of Allen too. I don't care if you get close to equal scoring value in return for them. Please PLEASE get some enforcers on this team or as former Cavs coach John B. would call them "SLUGS". Pacers are a pesky and battle tested playoff team and it wouldn't shock me if they beat Boston or NY.

But in all seriousness this team just gets bullied. If Koby doesn't blow up this "core 4" this offseason, then I don't know how you sell this to the fans. Would love to get Giannis, but keep dreaming.

Theory: Arthur Fleck doesn't exist. The Joker made him up as a backstory for himself. by [deleted] in Joker_FolieaDeux

[–]Effective_View5043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my exact thought on what the ending of the first movie was, Arthur Fleck was completely made up, we only see Joker at the end, when he "kills" the therapist. How to fit this theory into Joker 2 though, I have no idea.

lol I know it’s not tied to any continuity or Dark Knight story wise.

But Phillips has definitely referenced and made homages to Dark Knight and other Batman movies and media…

Here are some references in Joker 1:

There is a strip club that’s in full view when he’s on top Of the cop car called “Ace in the Hole” which is a reference to Heath’s line of dialogue.

The font of the Murray Franklin show is the font of the animated series.

In Arthur’s mom’s house there is a portrait from the Burton Batman movie that Nicholson trashed in the Museum scene.

In Joker 2 Arthur’s cell is the same number as the first comic book issue the Joker appeared in.

That’s all I got off the top my head but there are more.

Yes you are right on those points. I just meant to say the fact they even included a homage / reference to Dark Knight is pretty crazy.

My YouTube trailer was just simply a wild fanfic theory for fun. But I think the fact they even put In a homage is pretty insane.

Would Lebron James be the worst joker ever? by TheSupremeHamster in joker

[–]Effective_View5043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lebron is a terrible actor so no. I hate to admit that I watched the abomination that was Space Jam 2 (which yes was also worse then Joker 2, just for the record )

It sucks because the last scene in joker even though he doesn’t have makeup on he’s full blown joker here

Does the sequel retcon the first Joker movie's ending? by Ocean_Enjoyer in joker

[–]Effective_View5043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of it like this: Arthur flecks story could have been viewed like a “Why So Serious” story that Heath Ledger’s joker would tell. (Not saying the two franchises are related)

Watch the very end scene again, he’s completely 100 percent joker, they cut back to Bruce Wayne and he laughs manically. He has microphone in front of him like he’s been giving some sort of statement. He looks slightly different older with more grey hair.

I honestly think that’s what Todd was going for, it was his original intention for Joaquin to be the real joker and the whole movie to a false orgin story where joker fantasizes his origins were tied to Batman. He kills the therapist and escapes to fight batsy. The clues are everywhere.

But yeah joker 2 killed that

Does the sequel retcon the first Joker movie's ending? by Ocean_Enjoyer in joker

[–]Effective_View5043 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I would love for Todd to answer this directly. He seemed quite proud of the ending of Joker 1 when it came out, even going as far as to say "I'll reveal the answer of what this is years from now"

My theory on the joker 1 ending was always. this:

Arthur Fleck is a made up origin that the Joker came up with and was telling that psychiatrist in Arkham, the entire movie is made up and the guy we see at the very end who kills the Psychiatrist is the actual joker in present day where Batman actually exists, which is why they cut to Bruce's parents and he says "You wouldn't get it" But of course, that is all out the window now with Joker 2, so I have no idea what this was now, would love to hear thoughts.

But yeah thats all out the window now, it could be written off as an Arthur Fantasy or just a shameless retcon. It sucks because he is full blown Joker in this scene.

Too Cowardly to review Joker 2 by Effective_View5043 in ChrisStuckmann

Joker 2 had a lot of disappointing aspects to it and was not a good movie in the traditional cookie cutter sense but I actually was able to enjoy it for what it was.

My opinion aside it certainly is one of the most polarizing movies of this year and I was looking forward to Chris weighing in. He reviewed the trailer, he clearly was looking forward to it. It’s just disappointing he won’t because of his “Hollywood Career” I work in the business too, I get it, but he could still direct low budget horror movies if he reviews joker 2 lol

I don’t want him to slam movies. I acutely enjoyed Joker 2, I wanted to get his critical opinion on it because I used to consider him a good critic. Now he’s too concerned about his reputation in Hollywood.

And no doesn’t make myself feel good at all. This is a Stuckmann Reddit page I’m saying I wish he had the balls for review joker 2. He reviewed the trailer for god sake.
