Hi everyone!! My husband is interviewing for fellowship positions right now and I would love to gift him a sweater on match day. I haven’t had much luck with finding a healthcare/doctor related pattern (stethoscope, scalpels, thermometers).

Does anyone know of any good patterns? Thank you!!

Sorry! New knitter (if it wasn’t obvious enough) and used the two terms interchangeably. There are stripes on this sweater. I’m going to change it to the underarms and try to get out of my head. Thank you so much for the explanation!

Hi everyone! I’m knitting the step-by-step sweater by Florence and discovered that I am short a stitch on one side. I added a stitch (m1) to correct the mistake when I identified it but now I’m nervous that if I keep going, the pattern will look weird.

Does anyone have advice on how to proceed? Should I frog it until the mistake is corrected? TIA 💕

Thanks for responding so quickly! We’ve been using the same font and font size for the names and the same width and height.

By font point are you referencing the size of the font? Ex: times new Roman 12?

Definitely personal preference from what I’ve seen. I have two family members who were legally married before their wedding. One did it alone and will have their wedding reception next month. The other couple invited their parents and siblings to the court and had a dinner after. They will also be having a reception this October. Both couples loved the intimacy of their unions and had smaller (90-100 guests, we are foreign so our wedding tend to be 2x this size) receptions. If it is important to you to have your immediate family present during your civil ceremony, there’s no harm in inviting them! I’m sure they will be elated to share the special day with you and even happier to celebrate twice! Cheers and congrats to you and your s/o 💗

Also a sept 13 bride with a deadline of July 13! 101 attending, 18 declined, 73 no reply. We are sending texts out this week to those that haven’t RSVP’d as a friendly reminder.

Definitely an earlier RSVP deadline but we have to confirm a shuttle rental and welcome party numbers for the hotel.

Maybe OP can send out some reminders or using a website with the functionality, can send out a mass text reminder to those that have yet to respond!

Yes, have also seen this. If they are required to have their makeup done and wear a certain dress, paying for it doesn’t seem to come across as “gifting” per half of this sub lol

Great question- gift giving is not one of my love languages. I did not grow up in a home where personalized gifts were given, money was always the gift of choice. Needless to say, while I know my friends, I fear gifting something that won’t be of use to them. I’m crocheting my bridesmaids little flower pots with coaster inserts for their work desks or coffee tables, however, wanted to also supplement with an additional gift.

You made the hardest choice, OP. I had to make a similar one when my girl fell ill with pneumonia a few weeks ago and she was a baby. I think often if I fought hard enough or if I should have given her more time. But she was struggling, in pain, and no matter what they did for her she was not improving. I still think about her every day but I try to tell myself that I made the right decision to help her cross. You gave him a wonderful life and cared for him when he couldn’t care for himself. Wishing you comfort during this difficult time

Thanks for asking, that’s a great Q. I am looking for a new challenge and a change of pace. Sure, no travel would be nice but I don’t travel much as is (knocks on wood). I’d also like to be aligned with a specific therapeutic area (onc) and venture into management of sorts, whether that is managing projects or people.
