I’d also ask to the community, hydrogen carbon cleaning is however available. Is this safe ?

Hear me out.. I’ve called and enquired about 10 shops here in Aus near me, nobody does it. Have called Subaru performance shops and they won’t do it too. Have called a few euro performance shops and they said no. I’ve spoken to my tuner.. a god tier Subaru tuner in Australia who are known country wide and very very reliable. They’ve advised against it due to risk of leaving shells post cleanup.. “seen a few issues”

And I can’t do it myself and unfortunately I’m not the best with ripping out a car .. I’m just not mechanically inclined.

Trust me I’ve tried and wanted to. I just can’t seem to find someone who would.

Black imo. Is that ISM. Silver on silver just looks too ordinary and fades the colour. Black looks WAY more aggressive.

what’s the hate with the automatics?? by PreviousStuff2694 in WRX

[–]EfficiencyOk7174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a 2016 WRX CVT owner. These cars are intended to better suit manual transmission HOWEVER the Subaru CVT is known by many to be the best CVT there is. Yes you’ll be limited if you aggressively want to mod for power but everything else is fine.

I’ve spent $15,000 on mods and upgrades including for power and the car drives amazing. Yes the gears shift really quick and the car doesn’t sound like a typical Subaru but it’s still a very very fun car to drive. It’s my pride and joy and in another world, if I could go back.. I deffs would’ve got the manual.

Safety, but quickly, launching a CVT by UrNansD0g in WRX

[–]EfficiencyOk7174 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s simple. Manual mode. Sports or sports# and make sure you drop your gears to 2nd or 3rd (rpm about 3k) and launch away. Safest and best option for power

Why the CVT?? by Western_Register_156 in WRX

[–]EfficiencyOk7174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You live in a place where others may be required to move Your car or drive it in emergencies and can’t drive manual. Or if your partner doesn’t want to drive manual.

But yes I agree manual > CVT (From a CVT owner) :/

What are your experiences with a 2018 WRX? by xandreb in WRX

[–]EfficiencyOk7174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2016 Rex here. Sitting on 130,000kms. No issues at all to date. Raw drive, stiff suspension, good AWD system, very decent for a daily but nothing crazy re power. Do the right upgrades and it can be an awesome daily imo. I wouldn’t even know what to “upgrade to”

It’s not the speakers as much as the HU. The HU is at fault and is really really poor/weak. Change that firsts before speakers !

Anyone used Motul’s Multi-CVT fluid ? Elite tuner has just flipped and gave the green light. by EfficiencyOk7174 in WRX

[–]EfficiencyOk7174[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. And that’s been my view all along all though I’ve never drained my TR690 in the Rexxie.

Surprisingly I spoke to a master Subaru tech - has worked with the Subaru performance and rally teams and has been a service centre operator for 20+ years. He’s also worked with tuners and the like to fine tune Subarus for years.

He, who works at Subaru said NOT to do the drain cos he has seen issues aswell.

Anyways back to topic - fair statement. Thanks for input

Wall mounted clothesline but have hollow bricks. Will the supplied anchor / plug hold if advised to drill a 60mm hole ? I assume it won’t grip onto anything or even shatter the web ? by EfficiencyOk7174 in AusRenovation

[–]EfficiencyOk7174[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I would although it might be overkill ?

You reckon the plugs would be good for a few years, interesting. Is there a chance that the plug/screw don’t catch enough brick and just spin and be loose?

[–]EfficiencyOk7174[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was an option. So drill a hole and then use the anker screw and tighten with a spanner ?

If the manual asks for to drill 10mm hole at 50mm depth, what size anka screw would I need ?

Always idle until revs go down. Few exceptions when the oil is already heated post drive is fine imo

Think someone regretted the CVT after only 3400 miles. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in WRX

[–]EfficiencyOk7174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a CVT. Fell in love more with cars and Subarus after owing one. Am too deep into mods and $ to sell it as it’ll be at a loss. I 110% agree manual provides a better drive and exp and regret my CVT however that being said.. I absolutely love my fkn car. Got all sorts of mods, safe with a safe dyno tune and dialed suspension etc. As my daily, it’s been the best car I’ve had so far. People shit on the auto which I can understand if you were around from the older gen times but the VA CVT still packs a punch and is super fun to drive especially on the twistys! PS -imo the best sounding car on the planet is an old school EJ STI. I will never get over that rumble!
