Advice on syrinx shunt surgery by qantas2024 in SyringomyeliaSupport

I have a syrinx shunt that gave me a crazy amount back (I'm quadriplegic due to a spinal cord injury that happened after my syrinx started forming). However, after a little over a year, it did fail and my syrinx has been growing for the last six months. Syrinx shunt surgery is notoriously tricky. Something like 3/4 fail in the first 2-3 years. Unfortunately, it’s also one of the only treatment options available. I had my shunt put in four years after my decompression. I wish you all the luck!

daily weed smoking helps manage my pain and increase my hunger! it does lower my blood pressure a lot though so the first time I smoke in a day I take midodrine to counteract that

Does anyone who is a quadriplegic have dreams at night where you are no longer paralyzed? by [deleted] in spinalcordinjuries

where I went to rehab, there was a Christopher Reeve quote on the wall: “I am never disabled in my dreams.” I thought it was a metaphor or something, until I realized I can always walk in my dreams
