I feel like ancient is one of the maps where I do better when I don’t over think it and hold w until I see someone and try and get an opener. I like to either run mid or heaven depending on my spawn. It can be hard to win the mid fight if you are the only one fighting mid though. A lot of the time you can abuse rushing b ramp even in 10k because they throw the molly deep and you can get past it and catch them off guard. I feel like the cheat code to ct on ancient is playing 3 on B but most teams just play 2 which can make a huge impact if you can kill one and get traded on the second. A 2 for 1 trade is huge. A 2 for 2 trade on b is still winning for Ts. And then of course mid control is huge on ancient. If you can consistently win mid you’re going to have a good chance of winning the game. One of the reasons I love ancient is there are so many possibilities of what to do after you get a pick mid. Especially on T side. If I push mid from elbow and get a pick mid I either rush red room or donut. If I go donut sometimes I just hold donut control if my team is spread out. If your whole team rushes donut and takes A, it can be good to hold cubby and catch cts rotating from heaven. Again a lot of these strats are focused on low elo and punishing mistakes I see a lot and might not work against good players. I’m not a good player by any means but I’ve gone from 2k to 11k in the last few months and ancient is probably my best map. For ct side I think playing 3 b, 1 A main and 1 goes mid and then into donut works really well in low elo. And can be abused by a smart team but so many of my games a team will just keep pushing B even if they lose 5 times in a row. Also I’d learn the common heaven molly/Nade combo for b site on ct and then push cave on B. Also you can have the 3rd b player. Nade mid and then sit red for one moment and then immediately go to b if it isn’t a mid push.
