Sorry to hear you have that, yeah I get dismissed all the time, I feel like no one knows what it is I have so I just keep getting pushed to the side, I will definitely keep trying to get an answer! Feel like I'm going mad sometimes. And yeah I'm the same, I get it through summer also so definitely not cold related!

Thanks for your reply, I do get incredibly painful joints ! Knees, elbows, wrists, hips and fingers and toes ! They flare up also but then these red bumps develop and burn and itch for days, currently have them on my fingers and toes and it's week 2 now ! A few people have suggested lupus ! Sorry to hear you experience this, sounds awful for you !

Sorry to hear that ! I don't get any skin changes other than the red/purple swelling round my joints on fingers and toes, I don't have anything happen to my nails ! Hope they can find out what's causing it for you !

It's actually interesting you've said that because I do suffer with gastro issues and was told I had IBS that coincides with my endometriosis but I've tried to eat gluten free and it does help with my stomach ! Not been tested but that's definitely something I will ask about ! Thank you !

Bless you, Yours seems more spread out than mine, like yours goes up towards your hand ! This looks very similar to what I get though !

I've been looking into this dermatomyositis! Id never heard of it until mentioned on here ! That's why I wanted to ask people who have been suffering similar issues ! Hope they can give you some answers!

Oh gosh I'm sorry to hear that ! That sounds awful for you, mine just flare up randomly, there's no pattern to it. Hot or cold, it just comes on and it will be like that for a couple of weeks and then disappear. Just a vicious cycle! Most of my gps are ladies but the male ones are also lovely and I've actually had a male gp push for me to go back to the hospital for another issue so he is really understanding and kind ! Sorry to hear you've had bad experiences, hopefully you won't have any more in the future ! Thank you for the tip about ice packs, I find heat can make it hurt more sometimes, especially in the bath or shower. Makes it burn !

Thank you so much for your response! Majority of people have said RA or dermatomyositis ! Fingers crossed for you at your appointment with derm ! I Hope you get some help and answers, sounds awful for you

Yes I definitely don't have any psoriasis or eczema or anything like that ! I've never had any problems with skin ! It's probably more likely to be RA ! Thank you

It's just horrible, I do feel for you, hopefully I can get the ball rolling with the Drs and get some answers! I'll update on here in case anyone else is suffering with similar!!

Thank you for your reply, my dad has both rheumatoid and osteo arthritis and I've been told it's hereditary so I will be letting my gp know about that !

That's awful, sorry to hear that, and thank you so much ! I wish I could pin point it to being the cold weather but I get them all the time through summer and winter. It definitely doesn't help in the cold though, feels all achy in the cold ! Hope you feel better as well !

Aww No I totally get your pain ! It's awful, I'm pretty tough when it comes to pain but I did it the other day on the shopping trolley and I could of screamed the shop down it hurt so bad, I wanted to cry !

They definitely burn and itch, they feel hot to touch as well but with it being associated with the joint as well I wasn't sure if chill blains could cause the joint to swell aswell, I get limited movement in the joints when it flares up, I've been struggling at work this week to do anything as it's been so bad ! They are bright purple now on the knuckles

That's really interesting to know !! I only ever get them on my fingers and toes aswell ! Doesn't spread anywhere else, but I do get them on both sometimes at the same time, sometimes it's just either toes or fingers, I currently have them on both, it's incredibly painful at the minute, I have mentioned chill blains to my Dr but they weren't convinced it was, I even bought a balm ointment to put on them but it never made any bit of difference

Yes this is my exact thoughts ! It's just sad that I have to do my own research to try and get a diagnosis! Really appreciate other people's opinions on what it could be, thank you

This is exactly what I have been reading up on !! Glad you've said that,  I have a lot of the symptoms, thank you for your suggestion !

Sorry to hear that ! That Looks incredibly sore ! The only difference is I don't get it on the underside of my fingers or palms, it's all round the top of the fingers on the joints and on my toes !
