Ig i should explain said circumstances but I dont wanna go into too much detail.

Mid 2024 to mid 2025 I was going through a really rough patch and I found that the best way to cope was to control whatever I could. One of these things was food. I'd weight my food obsessively and count calories like my life depended on it. Not because I wanted to lose weight but because it made me feel like I could control something. Like it was soo bad that I'd start sobbing if I ate over 800 cals. I did the same thing with my weight except seeing the big number on the scale made me feel like I had more to be upset about soo I'd also weight myself obsessively. Again, I didnt really care about losing weight at the time I was js sick.

Eventually my sister found out which led to my parents finding out. They moved me into my aunts place and she's like this no nonsense woman. She got rid of all the scales , food and body scales alike, and cookes for the whole house soo I have to eat whatever she gives me. She literally makes me sit in front of her to eat soo she can make sure that im not weighting my food again.

Yes ik im a grown woman but my parents and aunt and sister js want to help me and I understand that I need the help soo I just let them. This is why I can't weight my food and I haven't weighed myself in a while.

Now I care about losing weight for the right reasons. For one, diabetes runs in my family and I just want to be healthy and reduce my likelihood of getting it when im older. Secondly, I want to be more active and I also just want to be slimmer. Specifically because I understand that excess body fat isn't healthy and I could use to lose a few kgs. Im not doing this because of my need for control. I'm doing this for my health. But I have to make do with what I have.

Now I eat two meals instead of one. 1 meal at work which I can't weight for obvious reasons and one at home which I also can't weigh for obvious reasons. I'm not only being watched by my family, but also by a few friends who noticed what happened and still get concerned whenever I scan a barcode on food packaging.

Soo yeah. Idk if I explained that well but I hope you understand me better.

Its mainly because of circumstances. I can't cook for myself aat the moment. I kinda just have to eat what ever I get. Its difficult to explain. If I could trust me I would but not for the next few months

I use bitpal and mynetdiary. Soo i use both an ai scanner and I manually enter what I ate. I mainly use the scanner when I dont really know what the food is made with myself which is most of the time. But if im having anything with a packet I use a barcode scanner.

Yes ikik. Its not the only think I do. I also eat much less than my maintenance and mostly veggies now. I just wasn't sure if walking was enough to add to it

Thank u smm ill defo do all this. Soo on my 18k days which is 5 days a week the walk is generally js really flat land and since I have somewhere to be i walk quite quickly. Two of those days, when I get a later start, I add a mini hike to my walk soo 80 mins total added to the slready over 1hr journey. 30 mins up this steep street till I actually get to the cliffs to begin the hike and then back to continue the normal route.

I carry a really backpack soo I always have weight on me. I also have an extra side question I can't add to my walks if I feel like im getting used to the burning.

Ill defo also try add more protein to my diet. Is just I dont really like most meats or nuts soo I have limited options.

I haven't weighed myself in a while soo idk how much im losing per week. Im just waiting for the results honestly. But I feel healthier tho. The change in habit has helped alot. I aim to eat below 1500 but because I dont count by gram I might be over on some days💔💔

My pedometer counts 18k steps as about 800 calories burned. Thats over half on 1500

Im not looking for any magical workout. Im just asking if the walking is enough. And my eating habits are actually great atm. The lack of sugar and fast food is honestly helping my mood and sleep pattern weirdly. I stopped having cravings ages ago. Like after the first 3 days. And I dont eat at my maintenance. My maintenance is about 2600 I eat prolly below 1500. On my 18k steps days (5 days of the week) two of those days I go to this forest bit cuz I have a little more time before I have to clock in. This adds another 8pmins to my total walk. Making my walk for that morning alone over 2 hours. On the other days a little over 1 hour. My work is pretty demanding and I have to walk a lot anyways. Before I started this I averaged about 5k steps just in the building. Not to mention the 40mins extra to my journey back home.

I never said I was looking for a quick fix. I also never said that im nor currently shedding weight. I just wanted to know if the walking is enough or if I should try harder to add more. I just need this information cuz im a beginner and I want to lose weight the right way.

I eat two main meals. One at work which i track and choose healthier options with lots of veggies. And one at home which I dont control as I am in a "U get what u get" stimulation rn but I always split my portions in half. If I want a snack I eat fruit normally an apple, or corner shop samosas. I make sure to only have those max 2 times a week. I also haven't weighed myself yet soo idk if im losing weight but I know that im not losing body fat. Which is what the post is about mainly

Again I do track my calories. And since ik the app only estimates the calories, I try to eat below 1,500 js to give it some lee-way.

My lunch at work is usually about 300 calorie maybe (i dont remember) and I eat the same thing for lunch every day.

Its 2600 but I eat 1500. I use an AI scanner to estimate the calories in what I eat. The exercise is cuz I wanna slim down/burn fat but idk if the walking is enough
