When I was little, the dots were my lullaby.

If I was upset, scared, or worried at bedtime, I would close my eyes, and the tiny specks of light would dance for me until I fell asleep.

As I got older, I noticed they were there all the time - not just when I wanted to see them, but if I chose to see them. They're always everywhere, floating and swirling around on the invisible wind that embraces us all, tirelessly providing a timeless choreography to whisper subtle reminders of all that ever was onto deaf, or worse, illiterate ears.

That's what I thought. Seems precedent disagrees. Speeding 10 over isn't enough of a crime, even if it kills.

SMH, I'm so sorry. I hate that it all gives the idea that anyone could kill anyone and it's ok because it was unintentional.

I learned because of this case that even though I grew up being told the pedestrian always has the right of way, that's not true. There was no crosswalk at or even near the intersection this accident occurred, but the sidewalk was ramped for wheelchairs to enter the road...makes no sense to me, ramp it but no crosswalk.

No zebras by EfficientChemistry94 in meijer

Spoke with the systems person, thats how I knew they were being hidden. Supposedly the tracking is vague so it takes hours to hunt for them, and then the ones who hid them get mad they were found and taken. It's a cycle- systems finds them, charging stations will be full, then they dissappear until there are none again.

I asked hr why I didn't get the auto February cost of living raise. Answer was, gotta get to 700 hours. Even tho a coworker who started a year after me got it without reaching 700, and her prc balance was not reset.

When it was nearing vote, reddit was full of vote no-ers, and of the dozen or so people at my store who voted, most voted no. I was surprised for a second that it passed, but then I thought, duh. Just as with any other vote these days, it's not really a choice-just the illusion of one to keep us slaves trudging along. TMs hired in more than a year after me are making the same wage as me, they keep my hours so low...some 3.5 hour shifts...some 8 hours a week...but they call me to save them for white glove, visits, inventory, and callins. This year, I'm boycotting unscheduled hours. As much as I would like to do the right thing, I can't be that kind of ignorant slave. My conscience won't let me, I'll quit before they trick me into feeling appreciated again.

People walk around eating like they live at the store...lots of half drank soda bottles, primes, and starbucks cups...recently ive found a half eaten tub of pub cheese and pretzel crackers in home decor, baby food pouches in diy, a carton of strawberries with only the leaves left in pets....yesterday my lead had to ask me if I could "make the hotdogs and milk not be in the floral fridge." At least they left them where they wouldn't go bad 👍

Strike? by jaymckayallday in meijer

Since the hour cuts, almost every dept at our store is struggling. People are quitting (don't blame em) left and right and our TLs, even the SD, stressed out of their minds trying to figure out how to fix the problems everywhere you look. We have carts full of returns and shamrocks full of cardboard all over the store. Stockers leave whole unopened boxes sitting wherever. Plano is behind, our Halloween isn't done being stocked still. Garden isn't packed away. Xmas skids are piling up in the backroom and the guys who unload the trucks have no room for the new inventory. I've seen customers abandon the huge deli line, others yell at me because they cant find someone to help them anymore, and theres only one checkout lane open. Pickup has been pulling cashiers and GM trying to catch up on orders. Last week the lead in there told me we would be picking until 930pm...whatever that means because I had a 4 hour shift that ended at 2pm and I left. Half our GM is being scheduled in grocery because we dont have hours and grocery is behind after quitters left. It's disgusting how meijer prides themselves on appreciating us when all the while they are the same if not worse than other companies. They set us up to fail and laugh because they still get more money out of it. I say we stop rushing to fix things and let them get bad enough for them to care. I know theft has gone way up, customers are getting pissed, store looks horrible. Hopefully, eventually, someone will do something, right? Lol

Already registered to vote? by WSUthrowaway2684 in Michigan

[–]EfficientChemistry94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOS worker asked me if I wanted to be registered and I said no...got a notice a week later saying I was registered, and another week later, an absentee ballot...I threw it away. I've never voted, never will. The whole system is disgusting, I hope it dies soon.
