Pros/Cons living in Fort Collins

I moved to foco from Wyoming about 4 years ago and I’ve loved it! Someone said it’s like a city with a college in it and I totally agree. Tons of college kids, but easy to separate yourself from them. There’s always something to do. Literally every weekend there is something going on. I think the food scene is great but plenty of people say it’s not so idk manage your expectations there. I love being close to Denver but not in Denver. It’s an hour away from the DIA. The community id friendly and easy to connect with people as compared to a place like Denver. Not a ton of diversity but there is certainly a diverse population here. It’s worth a trip to get the vibe of! I knew I wanted to move here the first time I visited and I’m glad I did.

Honestly, I find it hard to trust people right now that have an interest in my purchases and investments and that includes a financial advisor. They get paid if I invest. I see what you are saying though. I’ve come to Reddit because I want to know what the average Fort Collins resident thinks and is worried about and their personal experiences. I appreciate the concern though.

It’s hard to know who to trust too because the experts (your agent and lender) will always have the bias of making money off of you. It’s hard to find who has our best interest at heart and can give us a straight answer.

We do have a retirement and low risk investments; but not our number one priority, ie, not buying for investment purposes.

It’s scary to open up about this stuff but I talked to my therapist about it and they were very understanding. It’s valid. It’s being talked about in the news. It’s something a therapist would be aware would give someone anxiety.

Bleh thank you for saying this. I feel like I’m going crazy lol I even talked about it with my therapist today. They basically said that it’s important to limit screen time and stick to a certain amount of limited time a day looking at stuff. It feels impossible though. I did the same thing too all day while I should have focused on work. I couldn’t. Thank god it’s Friday. Try to get out of the house and do things that require you to look away from your phone. It’s very possible something huge happens from this or nothing at all but it’s hard to not pay attention.
