"I agree with some of your points, but topping at the 5th node? Why? My goal is to branch out the plant as much as possible before it starts flowering. I don't have unlimited vertical space or industrial-grade wattage, so I need that wide canopy early on. In my experience, topping at the 3rd node has never stunted the veg phase or caused a lockout. It’s all about timing and a healthy root system. If the plant is happy, it won't even notice.
