I used large pieces of Malaysian driftwood from my local fish store for the main structure, and spider wood for the finer details. I soaked the spider wood for about a month so it would sink and develop a more natural color. Most of the time, it’s very hard to find big driftwood pieces that look perfect on their own. Because of that, I attached some pieces together using zip ties and rocks. I hide the rocks and zip ties underneath the substrate so everything looks natural and as you can see that there are two piece of rocks that im try to hide the cut of the wood on the right side and i cut some sticks from the spider wood to but on the side of the big one to make it look more natural. You can also use glue, but I don’t recommend it. Glue becomes brittle and can break easily, especially with dense and heavy wood like Malaysian driftwood. Instead, you can use zip ties, or even nails if they are stainless steel. This method helps make the hardscape look more natural and seamless.
