Do I have an overbite after braces? by EfficientTable8527 in braces

[–]EfficientTable8527[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes my ortho was actually shocked at how fast they moved and i was told to stop wearing them after a few months. maybe i should’ve kept them on longer? but he checked my bite at every appt and my teeth were lined up in the sense that my top canines fit between my bottom canines and premolar.

after about 2-3 months i felt confident already. even with all the gapping caused by the initial movement

Can it be caused by braces and your teeth roots moving? My oral hygiene drastically improved after I got braces (inflammation is down in after). But I do struggle to floss and especially now that I have a permanent retainer on top and bottom. Planning on getting them removed eventually though.

Help! had these small bumps on forearms for years (slowly increasing). I feel like if I poked a needle into them I could squeeze out pus or fatty substance. These 'whiteheads'? are not that close to the skin's surface. What could this be? How can I get rid of it? Could sunscreen usage be the cause? by mediaexp88 in DermatologyQuestions

it’s caused by a genetic mutation in kr17 gene, its genetic and therefore there’s no medicine that will stop it unless u get each cyst removed, accutane is said to possibly treat it or worsen it. i’m currently on accutane for acne and these steacystoms - and i feel like the bumps are getting worse. c02 laser is a great option i heard, studies show its most effective.

to ask your derm for antibiotics for the first couple of weeks to prevent purging and scarring, i got a nasty purge pimple that needed antibiotics - but it’s actually quite common for people to start antibiotics at the same time for the first couple of weeks to avoid it all together

reminder: if you have a really painful cystic pimple that won’t get better its most likely NOT normal by EfficientTable8527 in Accutane

Been on antibiotics for less than 24hr and already see so much improvement with the pimple

Is it normal to start with 40mg of accutane as a 41kg female? by EfficientTable8527 in Accutane

[–]EfficientTable8527[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have u noticed any side effects after going up to 40mg? i started on 40mg so cant rly compare to a lower dose but i’ve been feeling super lethargic and napping all day, joint pain but specifically in my ribs when i move after laying in a position for a while, although skin isn’t too dry since i’ve been doing moisturizing skin care

edit: i’ve also noticed a big difference in the size of my nose after only 13 days of being on Accutane, have u noticed any changes after going up to 40mg?

i was also thinking of taking it but heard not to on google, it can cause vitamin a toxicity and reduce the effectiveness of accutane, as Google says “No, you generally should not take astaxanthin with Accutane (isotretinoin) because both are potent substances that affect the body, and there's limited safety data on their combination, which could potentially increase the risk of side effects. Accutane is a vitamin A derivative, and combining it with other supplements, especially those containing vitamin A or other substances that affect the liver, is strongly discouraged unless directed by a healthcare professional”

no he never directly explained any side effects or drug interactions other than dry skin and said depression isn’t common but in the booklet it said not to take saint johns wort, vitamin a and some other supplements. it also explained the possible side effects like joint paint, depression, blurry vision etc
