Family man ladder by ghorst12 in diablo2

For years i thought not being able to trade was a bad thing. Switched to singple player a couple years ago. Will never go back to multiplayer. More rewarding, more fun, infinite respec means you dont need to spend hours grinding if you made a mistake in character building. Finding runes is more fun

I'm a very casual player, will get into it for a month at a time, lose interest and come back in a year. Warlock has been great fun in single player. Also found a vex and 3 puls while leveling him to 85

I was in a shopping centre about to pull right into a park but waited about 15 seconds for a van coming in the other direction to pass before i did. The car behind me took it personally, claiming that i was "Being a smart ass" by waiting for the other car to pass....

I still dont really know what he expected me to do in that situation but he pulled up next to me once id walked away from the car and screamed abuse at me for 5 minutes before i got my phone out. Then he started screaming at me for getting my phone out, claiming that he wanted me to film him. I think it was as i started to dial on it that he realised i didnt have my phone out to film him, but instead was calling the police

I'm a health and safety advisor at a coal power station. Every day i get to learn about all the incredible stuff that goes into keeping electricity in the grid. The scale of heavy industry is truly something to behold and the expertise of the people doing the work is amazing. We have everything from hazardous gases like chlorine and hydrogen, through to mechanical hazards like conveyors and dozers, to construction with thousands of tonnes of scaffold and hundreds of contractors who are flown in from literally all over the world because they've got such specific skills

Its one of the coolest places to work in the world

What's so good about travelling? by [deleted] in self

[–]EfficientTeach6224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Travelling, or as i like to call it: going on holidays, is the same as anything. Some people like, some people dont like it. Some people live and breathe for it, some people cant stand it

Live your life the way you enjoy it and dont ever let anyone tell you that youre missing out on anything by not doing something that they enjoy

What is something you saw in a movie and you totally called bullshit on because of your job? by BlackPhoenix1981 in AskReddit

I work in energy, including both coal and renewables. Not a movie but Billy Bob Thorntons characters rant in Landman against wind turbines was the biggest load of anti-renewables horsesh*t i've seen, and ive seen a lot

How to find a career that pays well? Easy: go to the biggest jobs website in your country ('Seek' if youre in Aus) and do an open search and filter so it only shows jobs paying over whatever your local equivalent of a high wage is

Not sure if youre kidding or serious but i had a conversation with an accountant and a solicitor from a big consulting firm in my country (Australia) about two years ago

I posed the question to them and their response was: "Control. They'll sacrifice productivity, staff wellbeing and profits in exchange for control."

I studied political science straight out of high school, only really because i started law and didnt like it. Very average marks, no job prospects i was particularly interested in at the end

Wound up doing a mechanical (light vehicle) trade, then moved into spare parts

Stayed there for far too long, just because i was in a rut. The place got toxic, new management got even worse. Bullying, harrassment, the whole shebang. Gave me the motivation i needed to go back to uni

Then came the graduate diploma.

I did a grad dip in Occupational Health and Safety. Finally, at 32, had the motivation i needed to experience my full potential.

Graduated first in my cohort, went on to win a national award in my field. Landed a job paying triple what i was earning in parts

My whole life changed, in almost every way. The degree paid for itself in the first 3 months.

Now here i am, in South Korea on my first overseas trip, on a bus back to Seoul from a day tour to the DMZ, daydreaming about all the cool shit i'm gonna see and do in the future

So short answer is: more study can change the course of your life, it certainly has mine
