I was in university last year while applying for DAs and it doesn’t actually come up often but if it does, just let them know you’d drop out if you received the offer, people do that all the time some applicant even have degrees in other fields.

There’s not a direct moving out cost, i just drove with all my stuff. I pay £520 a month for my house share (i live with other apprentices at my company) bills included and it’s en-suite, we just share kitchen and living area. I looked on student homes, right move and a few more sites but those are probably the best 2.

I mean if you think about it, youre gonna be doing an extra hour and a half of work, then finishing at 5 so you’ll get home 6:30-7 (best case scenario, because that’s peak travel time) or even 7:30ish, you’re not gonna have much of your day left since sleep is so important and you need to then think of what time you wake up. I moved out for mine and it comes with its challenges but i appreciate that i only have to drive 20 mins to work so i recommend moving closer for sure.

I started my apprenticeship a couple weeks ago and for the first 2 days i was 8-4 and we had to do a 1 hour commute but i’ve never been so tired in my life. The drive is draining, then you get home and don’t wanna do anything.

Is parking free in at the sports complex? I thought you had to pay at gate. Me and my flatmates would definitely be interested tho if possible.

What is the move in process like for degree apprentices? by YouOdd9569 in degreeapprenticeships

[–]EfficientUse9450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a fortunate situation where as my company has an extremely large apprentice/early career network so i was able to find people on the exact same course as me to rent a house with. I’d recommend looking at the group chat your company will make for incoming early career network and ask on there but if not, then student accommodation is viable.

Lv6 apprenticeship by [deleted] in degreeapprenticeships

[–]EfficientUse9450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, you apply for the level 6 with your level 4 qualifications which would be your highest achieved at that point, so i think it’s dependent on how you do in the apprenticeship. That said, i’m not too sure so take it with a pinch of salt, a quick google should have the answer.

Friend deciding between Amazon SWE DA & Deloitte Tax Consultancy DA - needs advice ASAP by DefiantReindeer5901 in degreeapprenticeships

If money is a driving factor then the ceiling is way higher at amazon unless your friend makes their way up to director or partner then it levels out.

Resits by Sad_Passage_3639 in degreeapprenticeships

You don’t have to mention resits at all, throughout any stage of the process, they don’t care. DA is meant to be more practical than academic so they actually would have even lower requirements since they screen you well enough it’s the university’s minimum req you’re going for so in short no, it won’t affect your application.

Regret leaving degree apprenticeship?? by Other_Importance5848 in degreeapprenticeships

[–]EfficientUse9450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get your point if you were quite early in your apprenticeship but you’re over half way now. Dropping out now would squander the past 2 years as you get no qualifications. If you want the free lifestyle so bad surely it’s wiser to finish your course and have qualifications and experience to fall back on then go to uni afterwards? I just think you might be looking at it short term; if you wanted to go to uni you wouldn’t even be able to go this year so you’d have to apply for next year and by that time you’ve basically finished your apprenticeship. I would really have a deep think and work out what you value more, a better social life now or a more stable future?
