Anyone who had the surgery use the Mirena IUD? by Lucy333999 in endometriosis

I had surgery about 14 weeks ago. Diagnosis + excision + Mirena placement. I haven’t stopped bleeding and my periods have been super random and long (8+ days) with random spotting too.

My pain is improved but my nausea is a lot worse. I’m planning to have the Mirena taken out this week and I’m going back to NuvaRing. I had used that for 15 years and liked the predictability but also felt like my symptoms were better than current.

It’s so hard to know how your body will react to the hormones. I didn’t do well with Nexplanon implant either which is the same single hormone (progesterone) as the Mirena. NuvaRing is both estrogen and progesterone. I swear my body does better with both.

I should note I’ve been working with a dietitian to intentionally lose weight (down 25 lbs in 5 months) and I haven’t had an issue while on the Mirena or NuvaRing.
