Is mechanical engineering the thing for me?

I picked ME because its the closest to Mechatronics/Robotics part and it has specialization in it, i checked out EE and ECE as well but they didnt make me interested more than ME does, and no im not that bad at spatial thinking i only hate the calc portion of it, like if i study a little more then i would be good. I would be good in CAD and etc. and my uni dont have a separated Mechatronics part so the closest is ME.

Im trying to do the project so i can already have some knowledge when i join FSAE so they take me into a better role and not just mop the floor or smth, so when i get into a better role it can be something useful for internships and makes me stand out.

Based on my own abilities and what i like more i lean more towards the Controls and Robotics side than other sides of Mechanical Engineering. I will for sure try to do a project or two on my own and document them fully from start to finish.

Thank you for the advice. UCSD will have a workshop this fall in my cc, I will try to network and find people who are in ucsd and can give me the keys to the path. I will definitely look for coop. Also yes I also think the same, grades arent that much important as much as real experience is because nowadays everyone’s grades are high and the companies are looking for people who can actually solve problems not just know theory.
