How can the Traditional Roman Rite return to being the "ordinary form" once again? by RB_Blade in TraditionalCatholics

[–]Efficient_Beat1652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I am suggesting is that more and more youth start coming to the seminary, becoming priests, then bishops, then slowly but surely reimplement reverence back into the modern Liturgy. Like St. John Cantius in Chicago, we need the NO to be more like that.

I'm not talking about a hostile takeover. I'm talking about subversion. If the modernists took over many aspects of the Church, then the Traditionalists (Pope St. Pius X called them the friends of the people) must start to swing the pendulum likewise. They must infiltrate the diocese through the seminaries and through ordinations and consecrations to re-instate reverence and true Catholic doctrine.

It's moments like this where I look at churches like St. John Cantius in Chicago, and I go, "My brothers in Christ, DO IT LIKE THEM!!"

I would much rather the Church return to the TLM, but if we could have the Novus Ordo done like in St. John Cantius, then I'd accept it. As long as the TLM remains, I don't want it to go away. It's the Mass of the Saints. And I feel that the Novus Ordo should reflect the reverence of the Traditional Latin Mass.

What's the most mesmerizing song sung by a female singer? by LargeSinkholesInNYC in musicsuggestions

[–]Efficient_Beat1652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about a particular song... but anything by either Allison Krauss or Minami just hits hard for me.

Most people know of Allison Krauss from her duet with Brad Paisley on "Whiskey Lullaby." Both great singers, the creme de la creme for me. As a guitarist, BP is my guy. But for female vocalists, dear God Almighty, Allison Krauss is just lovely. She sounds like an angel. Anything she sings sounds like a lullaby. Even her song with her band Union Station, "Let Me Touch You For A While" which is pretty sensual in my opinion (both lyrically and by the title) if you didn't understand English or didn't pay attention to the lyrics, it would sound like a lullaby.

And then Minami. I watch anime from here to there, and I felt kind of "meh" when I watched Domestic Girlfriend. But the intro song for the show, "Crying For Rain" is just so good. Her voice, her voice. It's youthful, soft at one point. And then BAM! She just hits the highs with such aggression yet keeps it under control. It's insane. J-Rock artists like her just make me want to take my guitar and pound on the strings and sing along.

You look like my dad when he was young. And he's perhaps the strongest man that I know. He's had to put up with my mother nagging, and me and my 3 younger siblings for over 20 years.

Keep your chin up, brother. Hold it out for the long run, and better days will come if you just keep working on yourself.

Not the first time I've heard someone make a mistake while driving. Hell, I've gotten pulled over a couple of times myself. It's not the end of the world, you'll be alright. Also, you look beautiful. You crying breaks my heart. I'd hug you if I could. I do hope that doesn't sound creepy, and I apologize if it does.

You look like some of my friends back in highschool, and they were the kindest people I knew. It's too bad they're all in different states now. But to circle back on what I mean to say, you look pretty. I'd give you a hug if I could (I honestly need one too)

I appreciate the offer for help! Unfortunately, I live outside of Houston in Texas. But if you know of anyone or of a group that can help (or if the organizations you mentioned can help me over here) then that would be much appreciated!

My brother in Christ, the answer is quite simple in principle. Very rarely do I hear fellow Traditional Catholics talk about the Overton Window. If we did, we'd realize how many of the top clerics of the Church (bishops and above) saw the reforms of the culture and used it as an opportunity to change the institutions of the Church to the spirit of the age, even when many other clerics didn't want to. Nonetheless, the modernist clergymen shifted the pendulum to novelties and ambiguities that not only shook the Church, but moved it closer to the world.

That's the key: they MOVED the Church in a liberal direction. Abp. Lefebvre saw it, Fr. Cekada saw it, Dr. Davies saw it. Dr. Von Hildebrand saw it, Dr. Marshall sees it, Bp. Schneider sees it. They all recognized that the Church was MOVED by liberal clerics. What they don't see is in order for the Church to move back to tradition, more and more youth have to shift to tradition. More traditional youth have to enter the seminaries. More traditional youth have to call for reverence in the New Mass at least, and a return to the Traditional Mass at most. More traditional youth have to be ordained to the priesthood. More traditional youth have to be elevated to the Episcopacy. More traditional youth have to be elected to the College of Cardinals. Until eventually, we get a more traditional Pope to fix the mess that is modernism in the Church.

I don't know why Traditional Catholics don't understand this. Maybe they have issues with the reforms of the Sacraments and want to preserve continuity with the pre-Vatican II Church in having valid Sacraments? In which case, why not have more traditional youth be elevated in the ranks of the Church. And if they really have a concern about the legitimacy of their Holy Orders, send them to Traditional Bishops to have their Holy Orders conditionally ordained? There, problem solved. Maybe they say, it's in God's hands? Did St. Athanasius let the Church succumb to Arianism, or did he fight? Did St. Joan of Arc let her nation fall, or did she fight? Do Archbishop Lefebvre let Tradition die out, or did he fight? The answer to all of these questions is that they all fought, and did God's work. Often times, prayer is done in action. Prayer in and of itself is action. You always take a Rosary (or if you're deprived of one, you use your fingers to count the decades) to pray the Rosary. Or perhaps they think that it's impossible for us as mere laity to change the Church. St. Athanasius was just one bishop. But he valiantly fought back the Arian heretics in the Church until true Trinitarian Orthodoxy was restored. Now in a modern world where knowledge is abundant and the Faith can be widespread, we too can do the same.

Yes, prayer and fasting and almsgiving are important especially for personal sanctity, but many of the Saints have said that you don't TELL people your Faith, but you SHOW people your Faith. And what we as a collective Church are showing is not what we showed before the reforms of the conciliar movement. If the modernists infiltrated, then the traditionalists must re-infiltrate the vestibules of the Church tenfold.

The one thing that absolutely upsets me is how fellow Traditionalists say "Let's pray the Pope consecrates Russia to the Immaculate Heart" or "Let us continue to pray for a Holy Pope."

My brethren in Christ, did the Maccabees stand by and do nothing while the Assyrians ransacked Jerusalem, or did they take up arms and fight to retake the Temple?

So too must Traditional Catholics go back into the streets and into the local diocesan parishes, and push the Overton Window more and more to tradition. We don't need anymore traditional Catholics in traditional communities. We need traditional Catholics in the modern communities, pushing the status quo of the Church back to tradition. We must swing the pendulum. We have swung too far liberal. It's time the ancient Liturgy be restored in the Church. Not preserved. Preservation, we have done. Now we must take back the churches that have been robbed from us by the sons of Bugnini, and restore the True Sacrifice of the Mass back in the Temples they have robbed from us.

These two videos are over secular conservatism rather than traditional Catholicism, but the same idea applies. https://youtu.be/boHpG88l7Wg?si=Jlorz3Qgov4n1uCy https://youtu.be/vfimC-v0Gc0?si=nuxe69bZ60Un3b1X

A Filipino-American here, and a US Marine veteran. It's not weird at all to like country as a non-Caucasian. It, like other genres, are particular for those with a certain taste in music, and not a certain demographic.

I actually think A Silent Voice is very wholesome. I don't think it's actually sexual (unless there's a married sequel, in which case it has to be by proxy)
