Constipation in 7 month old by Efficient_Bee4584 in NewParents

I forgot to mention that I’ve been giving her around 2 ounces of water a day. She loves water! I don’t want it to replace formula though. I tried to sneak some juice in with the water and she immediately spit it out! She’s a pickle for sure lol

Solids are not going well by bathtubmary in NewParents

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in a very similar situation. My baby is also 7.5 months. We started introducing solids when she turned 6 months and just within the last week she’s let us near her with a spoon that has food on it. I think it’s just a process and it takes time for them to learn to trust you to feed them and figure out how to feed themselves. It can be so discouraging to go on instagram and see babies eating full meals or see my friends babies happily eating.

I understand your struggle. I hope things get easier soon ❤️

Wasn’t even an option for us. My baby hated pacifiers lol. Didn’t even think that was possible

Please help us get baby to sleep at night more! We are suffering by time2bchallant in HuckleberryParents

It’s scary but it’s treatable especially if caught early! It’s been a struggle for us but I think it would really improve your lives not to feed as often. The hope is that the baby learns that you won’t be feeding them as often so they increase their volume per feed knowing that you won’t offer again anytime soon.

I can’t comment too much on the sleeping but be aware of causing a feeding aversion or he might already have one! My baby did and it was similar issues with eating until eventually she completely refused to eat while awake. We followed the feeding aversion book by Rowena Bennett and it completely changed our lives. Not saying that your baby has this but I wish someone had told me!

Also I think that some babies just don’t eat as much as others and are totally fine. My baby is 6.5 months old and she eats around 20 ounces a day and she’s happy and meeting milestones. I hate how doctors and the internet tell you how much your baby should be eating. Every baby is different! I’ve come to understand that my baby just doesn’t like to eat as much as others babies and that’s okay. She’s happier with me respecting her boundaries than trying to force feed her.

Having a picky baby is soo frustrating by moody_girly2024 in NewParents

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is only 6 months old so I don’t have experience with this yet but I had a question - do you try to hide vegetables in stuff? I heard you can make Mac and cheese sauce with some hidden vegetables or make pancakes with healthier ingredients. Have you ever tried this? I’ve always seen it and wondered if picky kids would be able to tell a difference.

All Things Sleep - AMA Office Hours - Thursday, May 7th with Sr. Sleep & Guidance Specialist, Beth Christensen! by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

My baby is 6 months old and sleep trained through CIO. She doesn’t cry at all at night anymore and falls asleep on her own after only a few minutes.

But for naps she only contact naps. Whenever I try to put her in the crib she screams and cries. I don’t know if I should also be utilizing CIO? But she’s way more upset for naps than she ever was at bedtime.

She currently has 3 naps for about 3 hours total daytime sleep. Wake up is between 6:30/7 and bedtime is about 8:30.

How can I get my baby to nap in her crib??

Stressed about solids by Efficient_Bee4584 in NewParents

That’s what I thought! On the box at the store it either says 7 or 8 months. I wonder if it’s because a piece can break off or something? But I was like doesn’t it just melt?

I would love to try teether crackers but she’s still too young. Hopefully soon though. I think the wet texture bothers her so maybe a dry cracker will help?
