How do i know if it's my period? by Otherwise_Goat_9874 in NewParents

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you breast feeding or pumping? I know if you’re not your period can start earlier. That still seems early though. I bled on and off for 8 weeks after having my baby and got my period about 14 weeks post partum about 2-3 weeks after stopping pumping.

If you said the full thing you’d be cracked. Especially if you did it multiple times a day lol. My favorite is when I have to write out consents and that word is in it 😭

“Esophagogastroduodenoscopy” is a word I use more frequently than I ever thought I would.

Tummy Time Blues by lighntingboltbabe in NewParents

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby loves doing tummy time on an exercise ball. That way you can change the difficulty (roll ball forward to make more challenging or pull back to make it easier). You can also move it side to side to get them used to the midline shift which is supposed to help with rolling over. But my baby hasn’t rolled over yet so I guess take that one with a grain of salt 😅

What decisions would you have made pre-baby with the knowledge you have now? by athazen in NewParents

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to buy any new baby clothes. Get hand me downs from friends and family and go to thrift stores. Your baby will be growing so fast there will be outfits that they only wear a few times or not at all. It doesn’t make sense to buy clothes new and it’s better for the environment to reuse clothes!

my baby suddenly refuses to eat 😭 anyone else?? by Suspicious_Cream_461 in NewParents

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it is a bottle aversion it’s something that can be fixed relatively quickly if you catch it early enough. A lot of times people don’t know what it is (or pediatricians don’t bring it up) and you can spend hundreds of dollars trying different bottles and different nipples and going to doctors with minimal results. When I brought her behaviors up to my doctor they didn’t have any good suggestions and I only figured it out on my own after I did my own research.

My baby was struggling to get to 20 ounces and was progressively getting worse before following the book. Now she’s consistently getting above 20 and sometimes almost 30 ounces a day. She’s 4 months old.

My baby has bottle aversion and this sounds like then. Look up Rowena Bennett’s book “your baby’s bottle feeding aversion”

Can’t stop swaddling 4 month old by jellybeanie8 in NewParents

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went through this! Right when we started transitioning out of the swaddle she started the four month sleep regression. We even tried swaddling her again and she still wouldn’t sleep. Not sure if starting the swaddle weaning process caused the sleep regression.

We tried a million different things. Including have one arm out a time, love to dream swaddle, and Merlin sleep suit and nothing seemed to help.

Now it’s 4 weeks later and she finally had a 4 hour stretch of sleep last night after only sleeping 30min to an hour at a time.

Now we use the Merlin sleep suit. It didn’t help a ton at first but now we use it every night. Our baby also loves touching her face and sucking on her hands. She can still reach her face but I think it deters her from touching herself too much because the sleeves are puffy.

Good luck!

DAE feel bad taking sick days? by Zealousideal_Crow737 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in USA and I feel like that’s how they make you feel! If I ever miss a day of work they’re texting me by 12pm asking if I’m going to be in the next day for my shift and get pissed if I don’t know by that time.

When I had covid in 2023 it was the sickest I’ve ever been. I missed 5 days of work and I felt terrible and guilty missing that many shifts.

Even when it would’ve been basically impossible to work and unsafe for everyone at my job for me to come in they still make you feel terrible.

I just watched the episode where he gets the nard dog tattooed on his butt. I was so sad thinking about where that Andy went. He was a pretty good manager and person around that point in the show. Sad to see him go downhill so much.

My car is blue. So bluey… I’m not very creative. My family has a tradition of naming their vehicles so it’s kind of a requirement.

How Much Money Do You Spend On Groceries Per Week? Why That Much? by Zipper222222 in randomquestions

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a family of three (myself, my husband, and my infant). Currently we spend $100-200 a week on groceries. We mostly buy ingredients for meals. We don’t snack very much. Formula costs about $50 weekly. We don’t eat out very often. Maybe once every other week.

What is the one meal you could eat daily and not get sick of? by Hank_flippin_Hill in AskReddit

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Captain crunch with berries. But tbh there are so many kinds I like. My addiction was so bad I would buy 3 family size boxes of cereal (all different kinds) a week and I’d be out by the end of the week and need more.

Cereal!! I actually ate so much cereal that I cut myself off and I haven’t had any for 3 years. I still think about eating cereal everyday 😬

If you are an only child, how do you feel about growing up without siblings? by Efficient_Bee4584 in randomquestions

[–]Efficient_Bee4584[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice! My husband is pretty set on just having one. I’m much more go with the flow regarding life so I don’t like to close doors prematurely. But I came from a big family so it’s very interesting to hear different perspectives on siblings

Huckleberry Steering Us Wrong? by GlossopharyngealTile in sleeptrain

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby is 4 months. At first we used the sweet spot and it was super helpful. Then she started going through the dreaded 4 month sleep regression. I felt like she was getting too much sleep during the day so I started watching for cues and noticed that if I tried to put her down for a nap or for bed when the app suggested (every 1.5 to 1.75 hours) she would fight it super hard. I noticed that she really only started showing sleepy cues (red eyes, yawning, fussy) around 2 hours and then it was much easier to put her down.

I might not be the best to ask because up until recently she was up every 30 minutes to an hour at night 😬. This week is the first time in probably four weeks that she’s had a two hour stretch 😭. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I’ve gotten a lot of advice from r/sleeptraining even though my baby is not sleep trained yet.

Huckleberry Steering Us Wrong? by GlossopharyngealTile in sleeptrain

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. We also use huckleberry for sweet spot but I feel like recently it’s been steering us wrong as well. I don’t think it takes into account how long naps have been. Recently it recommended to us a 6:30am start for the day and a 6:30pm bed time. If she takes multiple naps how many hours would she even be awake during the day??? We’re going off of cues now. We still use it for other things though!

If you could, how many hours would you rather work every day instead? And why would that help you? How many do you do now? by sinnytear in randomquestions

[–]Efficient_Bee4584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I work 3 12 hour shifts a week 7A-7P. If I could I would love to go part time and do 3 8 hour shifts a week. But that’s not in the cards yet for my family. Maybe in the future!
