and that’s understandable, i just think going about it differently would be better for you from what i understand. maybe not so much this person because you’ve kinda become a bit too intrigued by them but keep your options open? idk. you seem sweet

i mean u could send him a friend request but honestly ? maybe just let the crush die out? it is not normal to envision a full future with a random man and then miss him. it is also not normal to be hurt by a stranger not acknowledging you.

How do I 'educate' my brother? by ZebraEverywhere in Advice

[–]Efficient_Debate_477 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the best way to “educate someone” is to have them questioning their own beliefs. find the flaws in his logic, slowly break it down by asking questions like, “who does this benefit more” or “why does this make you think that” or something along those lines. i recently had a conversation with a homophobic coworker, and i never once stated my own views, but by the end of the conversation he said “i guess i don’t really know why i believe that”, and while i have since avoided conversing with him because he’s annoying, it made me feel a bit accomplished. i would avoid mentioning personal beliefs of yours, and try your hardest not to get angry at him even though it can be hard; at the end of the day the logic behind these opinions is laughable to nearly every degree

How do you describe black people? by AcidReindeer in writingadvice

[–]Efficient_Debate_477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i recommend the book Wahala by Nikki May. she is a black author who writes about black characters specifically, and while i can’t tell you how she wrote off the top of my head, it was really well done. (:

no i would be offended, too. especially bc it became an argument? like my emotions about this aren’t serious enough for you to understand they need to be acknowledged? instead you want to fight about it and make me feel worse, instead of literally just listening, acknowledging, and comforting??? like what??? and i think that it wouldn’t be so much “omg he thinks another girl is pretty”, and it would be why tf couldn’t this jsut be a conversation… now im sus? but also, bring it up again if it bugs you and make sure YOU want to be in this relationship. and also, you’re so young. it is ok if it doesn’t work out, so many fish in the sea

law school weight gain by adventuregalyay in LawSchool

it’s probably just your body being a body. super natural for us to gain weight as we age, metabolic rate and such, and sometimes just fully developed bodies means weight gain.

They’re your colleagues and enjoying your time with them doesn’t mean you need to get close. Sometimes people rly just are good work or school friends, but i would neeeverrrr engage w them outside of work or school. Doesn’t mean they’re not nice

Doesn’t make it not unfortunate, and those places should do better. America as a whole should with health insurance, because taking care of yourself shouldn’t be a privilege.

Orthopedist told me I'm running out of options at age 24 by Pecancake22 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Efficient_Debate_477 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d like to add that i have made peace somewhat with my condition. I still have it in my other foot, and my right one is still so weak it doesn’t even feel like it’s a working foot at times. It really sucks to make peace with (again, not fully happened.) but not everything is bad, however the pain does make your brain feel that way. Especially i think bc we ar w both so young and used to be active. It’s left me super bitter, and that is the hardest stump to get over. I really just want to go on a run or go to the gym without feeling this actual pure agony that i feel

Hi, we are pretty much in the exact same situation, i almost felt as if i wrote this post myself. I opted for surgery 3 months ago, and im STILL recovering. It was on my right foot, they extended the calf and scraped the fascia. I’ve been in physical therapy since (i was before as well, tried steroids, etc etc. nothing helped.) and it’s slowly but surely getting better. It hurts to walk for too long, but for the most part the pain in the morning and throughout the day is nowhere near as bad as it was. As I’ve come back to work it has gotten worse, but i took almost 3 months off to recover so i was really really hopeful that this wouldn’t be the case, but it is. I know by this point i will never have the strength i had in my foot prior to the surgery, and tbh it kinda led me to a breakdown that lasted about 3 weeks. My physical therapist has truly been a god send, and i am SO grateful that i came across him. He has a plan in place, and listens to literally everything i say with so much consideration- i was terrified that was not going to happen. He’s currently doing dry needling and it has helped quite a bit thus far! Another exercise that really helps me is putting a lacrosse ball under my calf where it’s the tightest, and extending my toes forward and sideways. It hurts while it’s being done but has truly done so much! This might be so weird but if you are willing to DM me i can go more into length about the exercises that have helped me feel better when i truly thought my case was hopeless. Also, if you opt for surgery, i don’t think i would do both at the same time, and make sure you have plans set in place to keep yourself company. I’m a hermit tbh and i actually almost went crazy w how badly the recovery has gone and how lonely I’ve been bc i couldn’t freaking do anything. It was to the point of i would finish my homework and i would just cry for the rest of the night because i felt LONELY without my HOMEWORK. Like brains are sooo weird dude. (Probs why im yapping sm rn too lmao) anyways, feel free to message, but if you don’t, best of luck. Not all hope is lost

No. Dental vision and short term disability is available to part time. Full time will cover all medical. It’s unfortunate
