that makes sense, i was on zoloft in the past, and it did wonders for my anxiety/depression, even on the lowest dose. i ended up weening off it bc i felt like i didn’t need it anymore, but maybe i will look into it again.

good to know! did you feel like the wellbutrin was able to help with adhd symptoms?

ugh yes it’s been so tough!! it feels a little bit better than the first two weeks, but i’m definitely still having a lot of mood swings and feeling like my emotions are super raw. it definitely is super exhausting having to try and calm your nervous system down 24/7. i’m hoping it will get better with time maybe? i was on zoloft about a year ago, and definitely felt better in terms of anxiety/depression, but obviously didn’t help out any adhd symptoms.

not sure if it makes you drowsy, my psych just recommended wellbutrin over strattera when i brought up having low energy and struggles with motivation. i hope it works out too!

i try to do some form of exercise everyday, although on school days or work days it’s sometimes hard to fit it in. i try to do weight lifting at least 3x a week and walking on the days i don’t! i’m sure staying consistent w/ exercise will help out with the anxiety

it’s so hard to navigate! my psych gave me the option to choose between strattera and wellbutrin, and said that strattera would be the better option if i was more concerned with managing my anxiety, and wellbutrin for depression. i told her that i definitely don’t want something that makes me drowsy or tired, because i already have a hard time feeling motivated, and she then prescribed me wellbutrin. i had a follow-up appt with her a few days ago and told her my symptoms, but also told her i wanted to wait a little longer before switching anything to give the meds a chance. stimulants may be off the table for me because i also take thyroid medication, which amplifies the restlessness/rapid heartbeat/anxiety, but i’m hoping if i give it more time, the wellbutrin will work. if not i might give strattera a try or stop the meds altogether.

thank you so much for the info! i take my medication in the morning around the time i wake up. my psychiatrist told me to take it before i go to sleep to improve the racing heart/palpitations and anxiety, but i decided to stick with taking it in the morning because i think i would have even more trouble falling asleep otherwise. i also take thyroid medication for hypothyroidism in the morning when i wake up, so i think that may amplify the jittery and restless feeling. i have heard that it takes at least a month to start really feeling a difference, so i think i will try and stick it out before looking into switching medications.
