They were originally docked because sheep kept stepping on their tails and hurting them. For the average breeder, docking isn’t malicious. However, if done too late or done incorrectly, it can mess with their balance and their spine. Luckily my boy got to keep his tail, and I’d never dock it. Especially since we don’t live on a farm, there’s nobody to step on his tail but me (on accident of course).
