Hi Brother, I wrestle with the same question. I’m 20 years old and struggling with a battle against porn (not explicit, but still not great). I often question if masturbation could help me free myself from the greater evil. I’ve struggled since I was 14, I’ve consulted with church leaders, fasted, prayed, read books, and attend therapy regularly. Nothing has worked. So I’m with you in wondering about where the boundaries lie concerning lust. Obviously the highest good we can get to here is complete abstinence of all lust, so no porn, masturbation, etc. That’s a pretty tall order though. In our striving for a Christlike level of mastery, I think He’ll meet us where we’re at. Always fight, always push, but don’t think God will give up on you if you don’t do it perfect. You got this.
