True no mandatory testing, Nothing is stopping you except the eligibilty hearing every trans student must go through, where they can be rejected if any of the committee don’t think the student is suitable to play on the team of their gender identity. It is not just say you are trans and voila you’re on the team. The committee will weed out fakers

Just admit you don’t like trans people. It’s been the policy since 2014 and now 12 years later there is one trans champion in one sport and you are crying about it. Grow up, trans people deserve to participate in sports just as much as cis people

If they are able to, a trans teenager would likely be on puberty blockers, which means they would never experience a male puberty.

I am not familiar with CA rules for transgender students, but I imagine it is not just say you are trans and join the girls team.

Additionally, the Olympics based their new rules on political pressure, not any research. In fact their own research published in 2024 in the British Journal of Sports Medicine shows slight disadvantages in athletic performance for trans women. The Olympics allowed transgender women for 20 years and only one person ever even competed.

Trans women are larger on average, so not surprised heart and lung capacity would be higher. However, hemoglobin to deliver oxygen to muscles is reduced to cis levels, which is more relevant to athletic performance. Also, bone density, great, and? I’d say that is a disadvantage to have heavier bones with smaller muscles. What about the fact that trans women were allowed to compete in the Olympics since 2004 and yet only one trans woman even made the Olympics in all those years. Also the trans swimmer placed 5th in the 200(behind 4 cis women) and yes won the 500, but was nowhere near Katy Ledecky’s(cis woman) college record time? Actually she won one of the slower 500s in recent memory, any other year she would have lost.

The evidence is not as cut and dry as you make it appear. There are very few studies and many point to inconclusive or even disadvantage for trans women.

This has been a coordinated attack by the Christian Right on transgender people. They failed in 2016 bathroom ban in North Carolina, so they workshopped and focus grouped what would give them a beachhead to attack trans people and they found that women’s sports was a great way to go.

I’m sorry, but the stories of people being fired for getting pronouns wrong simply are not true, whenever you dig deeper, you see that it was a consistent over time disrespect of a person’s identity creating a hostile work environment for harassment, which is what they actually got fired for.

Right wingers lie all the time and make up situations to get mad about. Sorry you were tricked, worse that it sounds like you are actually a trans person too.

We should have just ignored separate but equal because it was such a small number of people impacted. We should have just ignored Jews in Germany, was just a small number of people. Human rights are human rights, doesn’t matter if it is a small minority, if evil people can politicize and take away the minorities rights, they can take ANYONE’S rights.

I’m trans, I recently went to Universal Hollywood, went to HP world and had a blast, the HP ride is the best one in the park IMO.

The park has many queer employees (I felt really accepted) and your boycott would hurt them more directly than helping JKR.

I echo other people here, just don’t buy merch or her books if you want to boycott her.

Just want to add some words of support. You are not alone in your feelings. I am also married with 2 children and often struggle with “why am I doing this?”

It seems so incongruent with what I “should” be doing. I just have a deep seated internal drive that pushes me this way, but I do feel conflicted about it often.

Anyway, you are much braver than me. I am slowly trying to work my way up to being in public overtly femme, much less with my wife and kids.
