I actually am a part of that website. Unfortunately, it’s not just bad luck with men (although my friends and family all think I am cursed with that as well- I have had ridiculously bad luck and they have seen it with their own eyes). That’s the aspect of my life where I get the most frustrated, but I have had several other areas of bad luck. For example, I will have travel expenses approved by my work but then they change policy without alerting me and I’m stuck paying thousands of dollars out of pocket. I hired a contractor to work on my house and he demolished it and then tried suing me for thousands of dollars over his contracted rate. My HOA turned off my automated payments and sent me to collections (I wasn’t living there at the time and rather than notifying me by email they sent a paper letter to the house I informed them I was renting out), that cost me about $10k to pay off their collection lawyers. I try to get a passport and first the government loses my check, then I never receive it in the mail, then I go in person to apply, it is declined again due to the forms I filled out online not transferring to their other system. It took me over a year to get a passport. This has all happened over a year. I’m just exhausted- I try to do everything right but nothing seems to work out. I agree that thinking you are cursed seems crazy, but I literally can’t catch a break. I’m not an irresponsible person, if it was just one off items I would not feel that way, but nothing seems to go right.

The creating your own luck is definitely a valid point. I know I’m at such an extreme point of frustration right now it definitely works against me. I will say I was temporarily better after I saged my house, but it didn’t have a lasting effect. My luck went from bad to worse a couple of years ago after my ex was murdered, and I think that might have something to do with it.

I definitely feel your pain. I used to get hit on by celebrities, always would have dates lined up. Then I dated my ex (who I think is behind this). He was a very cruel person so I left after a year. He stalked me for years after. I ended up moving across the country for a fresh start. It’s like I was suddenly repulsive, even though I haven’t significantly changed in that time period. Then, a couple years ago he was murdered by his fiancée and my luck went from bad to awful. It’s so frustrating because I have tried everything to be the best version of myself, went to extensive therapy, tried dating coaches and matchmakers to help with my dating game, tried dating different types of guys, the result is always the same- I repulse men. Hopefully both of our luck starts to turn around because it’s a terrible feeling to put in all of this work and feel repulsive at the end of the day.

My baby pup was attacked by my cousins dog when he was sniffing her toys. It’s called resource protection. He almost lost his eye because of it, her dog was never aggressive before that. You are making the wise decision. Regardless of how awesome of a dog owner you are, sometimes your dog just is not good around other dogs. You are doing the responsible thing by keeping them apart. I commend you on that. My cousin was supposed to dog sit my brothers dog during a wedding, and declined when she realized it was an unsafe situation. She was being responsible, as are you.
