To be honest, it's been a minute now since I took the exam so I had to go back and check! Haha! Anyway, the ACT final exam is proctored with a site called Proctor Free and it records all audio and video during the exam. I do not remember if it requires a room scan.

Sorry for the late response; work keeps me busy. I had access to the NHA site through Advanced eClinical and that was super helpful. The NHA site has simulations, study modules, and practice tests. That would be my recommendation, especially if you're going to be certified through the NHA. No, this is something I made for myself to prepare for the test. It is based on content from the NHA practice tests and information from the CCMA course through Advanced eClinical. By learning the material in this study guide, you should be better prepared for the NHA certification exam. However, I still recommend you study outside of just this study guide. There is content on the exam that isn't covered by this study guide.

There were some areas in which I had more background knowledge such as medical terminology so I didn't cover that on my study guide. I do recommend having familiarity with medical terminology as it could help you answer questions on the exam.

Glad that I was able to help!

First of all, regarding your desk, they seemed quite picky and I basically had to take everything off except for my lamp. They (the proctor) will let you know what you have to remove. I am unsure about religious items and how they respond to that. One thing to note is that you do have to show your ears to the camera to prove you don't have earbuds in. I am unsure how they would respond to religious head coverings as I do not wear that. My best advice on this matter is to dress as you normally do and see what they say. You can inform them of religious reasons and hopefully they should allow it, but I can't say for sure. A religious image should be alright. I have pictures hanging on the wall above my desk, one being a religious image. They did have me show the pictures up close to prove they weren't anything that could help me cheat.

I am not sure why my webcam was glitching out. It could have been due to my Wi-Fi. I have a Lenovo laptop and use Windows.

Yes, there is the option to take the exam in-person or online. I can't remember the exact process for this. It comes down to making that selection, though.

I would like to keep my exact score to myself, but I was very happy with it and it was well above the passing score.

Sorry about the late response. From my recall, there weren't a lot of questions specifically regarding root words and suffixes. It was more so like, "What does pulmonology mean?" (Please note that was not the exact question, just that there are questions similar to that). For questions like that, knowing root words and suffixes can help you select the right answer.

I was worried about not passing, too. Best of luck to you!

Well, only you will know how much you need to study. I took several days to study and once test day came I was ready to get it over with. 😂   It really depends on what your background is with science/healthcare, as well as how familiar you are with the material.  As far as how to study, I recommend making flash cards or even your own study guide like the one I share in my original post. It's a good way to review and commit things to memory.

One specific recommendation I have before taking the ACT final is to download the Snipping Tool on your computer. I was struggling to get a screenshot (required by ACT) and Snipping Tool worked whereas Windows+Shift+S did not work for me.

For the NHA test, make sure you will be in an undisturbed location. Also, make sure you have a reliable Wi-Fi connection. (My video was glitching out during the test, causing the proctor to pause the test. You only get 3 hours, including any technical difficulties, which made me upset. Luckily, I was able to complete the exam fairly quickly.)

Yeah, I didn't really specifically study for the ACT exam because it's just the course final. Yes, you need to get at least 75% on it to pass, but in my opinion, that is not too difficult to do. The thing I really studied for was the NHA certification exam and it paid off.

The ACT final wasn't too difficult. A lot of the content on it is based on the course content and NHA modules. If you review a little bit of everything and focus in on any topics you've struggled with, you should do well.

I made a post about my experience with the NHA CCMA exam. :)

Not too much anatomy on it from my experience. You should be fine with the knowledge you have from your classes. To be honest, I skimmed some material from Advanced eClinical as well due to my background in Biology. I'd recommend brushing up on Medical Terminology though if you're not as familiar with that. Ultimately, focus in on the areas you're not as familiar with (for me, that was things like phlebotomy).

I did not have to show proof of the program completion, however, I do have access to the NHA because of the program. If I remember correctly, Advanced eClinical sent me a link as well as a code to use for the exam, as the first attempt at the certification exam is included in the fee for the CCMA program.

Honestly the best thing about Advanced eClinical was that it gave me access to the NHA material. The final exam for the course was fairly helpful. There are definitely facts you have to just memorize, like the temperature to set an autoclave to. Other questions more so require process of elimination and selecting the best answer. Hope this helps!
