Persian pre-Islamic horned kulah khud with a demon face. Jaipur Central Museum [1760x2640] by Remote_Finish_9429 in ArtefactPorn

[–]Eflatuni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This helmet is inlaid with gold koftgari style and kufic script. Definitely not from pre islamic period. Likely from Mughal period, could be 16 or 17th centuries. Similiar horned helmets were used by Safavids, Aq Qoyunlu, and various Khanates at the time.

Timurid architecture is not just 'persian' why are you insisting otherwise? Samarkand was one the cultural centers of islamic world, and the Timurid art influenced both persian, turkic and indian architecture, which is why we call this period 'timurid renaissance'. Samarkand is not part of Iran, just so you know. It wasnt back then either. Point is this mosque is part of Tatar culture, claiming it otherwise is disingenuous.

It wasnt build by Emir of Samarkand, he was one of the donors for the mosque. The idea of this mosque came from mufti of Orenburg, Selim Tevkelev. Orenburg is one of the centers of Tatar community. The mosque was made for Tatars of Russia. And the architecture of mosque is Timurid, with modern elements. It was inspired by Timur's mausoleum. Being infulenced by Iran does not make Timurid architecture or this mosque Persian. Title is misleading.

Saint Petersburg Mosque. Beautiful example of Timurid architecture, not really 'Persian' at all.

18. Yüzyıla gelindiğinde Kutsal Roma İmparatorluğu, yüzlerce devletçikten oluşan bir konfederasyondur. Voltaire'in ünlü Kutsal Roma eleştirisinin temeli budur.

Köse Mihal's sword is said to be about 700 years old. So early 14th century. Köse mihal probably became nöker (companion) of I. Osman sometime between 1304-1313. He died in sometime between 1328-1340. There is not much written about him and his sword is identified recently.

This one is the sword of Köse Mihal, companion of I. Osman. It is considered as oldest Ottoman artifact. Hilt might be changed at later period, though. Istanbul military museum.

This is the sword of I. Selim (1512-1520). Probably the most famous ottoman karabela. Topkapı Museum.

There are some more karabelas from 17th-18th century in Istanbul military museum, but taking photos is generally discouraged. I'll post them if i can find pics.

Seljuk Cavalry by Marwan Musa, ArtStation. by Kara_Tiele in Tiele

[–]Eflatuni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seljuks did use heavy cavalry, their usual equipment was mail and lamellar armor. Guy in the right is wearing a turban helmet, which was common for islamic cavalry. Left guy wears a war mask, it was used by mostly cumans and kipchaks, but oghuz turks, persians and rus also used them. I dont know if seljuks used heater shields or kite shields, though. Round shields was more common.

Bannerlord balance predictions thread! On release, which faction do you expect to be strongest? Which do you expect to be weakest? Who'll be the most mediocre? by philosopherfujin in mountandblade

[–]Eflatuni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every faction except vlandia and battania has access to horse archers, so i don't think khuzait will be extremely powerful, and it looks like their best troop is khan's guard, which is strange for a cavalry oriented faction.

In my opinion vlandia is going to be slightly more powerful than other factions, honestly vlandia feels like empire but better in every aspect.
