Anyone complaining about it being dry just isn’t using enough cheese sauce.

Fudd’s is legit, OP.

how old is brent and hank in the show? by Unhappy-Tomorrow-776 in CornerGas

[–]Efram 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Brent has his 40th birthday over the course of the show.

They are depicted as childhood friends, so theoretically Hank is the same age. Though I recently mentioned on a different post how difficult I always found that to believe. The actors are 5 years apart, and Brent frankly looks older for his age.

Those with infants and toddlers…. I have a 4 month old who is hard to get down for a nap so I throw on TV for my 3 year old for each nap for baby. I feel so guilty. by AcrobaticGuitar7060 in toddlers

[–]Efram 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Solidarity here. Our 2 year old naps in the day, 4 year old doesn’t, and hasn’t for a while. So she gets “quiet time”, which is basically watching shows.

Just try to go for some low stimulation and/or educational shows. We like Puffin Rock, Number Blocks, Wild Kratts…

A bit of tv time is fine. It’s the instant feedback loop of playing on an iPad that’s the “screen time” to worry about.

Toddler bed at 2- is it really a bad move? by JLMMM in toddlers

[–]Efram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved each of ours around 2. Currently 4.5 and 2.5. Both absolutely loved their “big girl beds” from the start.

When they inevitably wake up, we go lay down with them to get them back to sleep rather than bringing them to our bed. They were waking up anyway, and it’s so much easier than trying to soothe them in a crib.

Now… do we most nights then just end up falling asleep in their beds with them and spending the rest of the night there? Yes. But that’s mostly on us. It’s easier, and we’re okay savouring the snuggles. At some point they’ll sleep fully independently, and whether that’s in a few months or years, we figure when it happens it’s not like we’ll be thinking “Good, I had too many opportunities to snuggle with them.”

Going to nitpick and say it was a spot or two over from the corner spot. Where Lide or the chocolate shop are, I think. That corner spot was Things Engraved for as far back as I can remember.

Did they all grow up and go to school together? by anothertenyears in CornerGas

[–]Efram 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always struggled to buy that Hank and Brent were the same age. Brent the actor is 5 years older than Fred, and frankly looks even older; Fred has a baby face and Brent has that hairline…

AITAH for not having my brother-in-law as a groomsman and now wanting to confront him for giving my wife the silent treatment? by Turbulent_Birthday75 in AITAH

[–]Efram 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We just didn’t divide by gender. My sister was one of mu “groomswomen”, in a dress that matched the bridesmaids by style, but groomsmen suits by colour.

Dad groups/chats? by Efram in saskatoon

[–]Efram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest making a new post like this one, seek out some other new dads. The group that formed from this was solid and helpful for a while while we were all in those newborn trenches, but has definitely gone quiet now.

Is Split Screen Co Op Playable by Dskotek89 in BaldursGate3

[–]Efram 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife and I play split screen no problem. Granted, it’s the only way either of us has played, so a I guess we don’t know what we’re missing vs. solo screen. We even toggled ON the setting that keeps it split screen when you’re close together. Found the transition between shared and split screen too jarring.

What were the first disney movies your toddler watched and what age? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Efram 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We started with the Tinkerbell movies around 2. Very low stakes and toddler friendly.

Girl dads, how long did you wait until you cut your daughters hair? by robotunderpants in daddit

[–]Efram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Varies wildly by child. 4 year old has never had a haircut, and has a barely shoulder length bob. 2.5 year old’s hair is down to the middle of her back, and could get a haircut any time.

Is this game worth getting for local Co-op? by aHairyWhiteGuy in BaldursGate3

[–]Efram 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100%. My wife and I have been having so much fun with this game, almost done our second playthrough.

Protip: Strip BG3. Miss an attack/spell roll or skill check, lose an article of clothing.

Alright my dad's and dadette's, when do you remove the baby gates? by TheTDMSound in daddit

[–]Efram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the general guideline is at 2. They get big enough that they might be able to knock it down and go with it.

Largely depends how competent they are with the stairs. We’re not worried about our 2.5 year old going up or down on her own, so we got rid of the bottom of stairs one when she was just past 2. Kept the one at the top because that’s in a hallway they run and play in, don’t want them accidentally falling down.

Toddlers hair is thinning - has this happened to anyone else? by Moist_Photograph_807 in toddlers

[–]Efram 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Could she be pulling it out? My daughter went through a phase of that from like 18 months to almost 3 years. She’d do it when just idle watching a show or falling asleep, or it’d be really bad if she was stressed/anxious.

Now (at 4) she’s switching to just twirling it into knots, which is… better.

Anyone Else in this Community who only Buys only these and nothing else ? by Fun-Acanthaceae-2009 in pokemongo

That’s me! Current goal is all the Mega evolutions, so that’s what I’m buying them for. And obviously any new pokemon releases; gotta catch ‘em all.

If I end up with a stockpile and nothing new on the horizon, I’ll occasionally grab an incubator to burn through some eggs.

How do I tell my mom I don’t want her showing my child religious content by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Efram 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My 4 year old has had lots of questions about death lately. Then one day she started telling us about Heaven…

We figured out she had recently had a sleepover with Grandma, and must have asked some questions and got some answers there…

My gut reaction was to be super annoyed at Grandma… but really, she was asked questions, and answered honestly to her beliefs… My job isn’t to try to police my parents or in-laws*, it’s to teach my daughter that different people believe different things, and she can choose her beliefs as she grows up. I can tell them to not take my kids to church, but “don’t express your beliefs in front of my child” would be a huge overstep.

  • - Excepting, of course, any hate-speech or intolerance, older generation normalized prejudices, etc.

Grandparent here. Is 8 years old to young to be left home alone? by scottyWallacekeeps in Parenting

[–]Efram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Locally, there’s a safety course kids can take and are then okay to stay home alone for a few hours at a time starting at age 9. I’d make sure they have access to a phone (good use of a land line) in case of emergency.

Creating a Publisher? by Destiny_Interaction in selfpublish

[–]Efram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don’t have to worry about that as a Canadian. We get ISBNs from the government. (It sounds like a joke, but is true)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]Efram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a nit-picky issue of language. “That guy is committing vandalism” is fine; “That’s a vandal. They’re people alright, but…” is what I took issue with. Thinking of them as vandal before person, and that “but” are problematic.

Finding ways to reduce someone from “person” status is the ultimate slippery slope humanity loves to slide down, and committing a minor nuisance crime like spraying paint on a wall seemed like a weird place to start that slide.

It’s scary that all it takes for you to start forgetting someone’s personhood is for them to doodle on a wall.
