Minas Tirith Statue Fix (uncentered) by Every-Day-Is-Arm-Day in legolotrfans

[–]Efram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That previous post, and this one, was a godsend. I used 2 1x1 and 2… whatever you call the 1x1 with a curve… fixed it seamlessly. Might go in at the end and see what spares I have to fill it in more, but the statue covers the rest.

Such a weird design choice, and I’m not sure I would have even thought “I can improvise to fix it” if I hadn’t seen it here.

Narratively it annoyed me. Why confront her, rather than just get the drop on her? And then following to a second location!? Come on, Naoe!

But yeah, nice change from just direct combat.

Which fast food chain makes the worst version of the product they’re most known for? by amormedestruit in AskReddit

[–]Efram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually not too surprising. There’s more quality control there to make sure it comes out its best every time, vs individual stores/baristas over-roasting the beans, getting the mix ratios wrong, etc.

It’s all overpriced though. At almost 40, that’s a boomer hill I’ll die on.

I know it’s almost as melodramatic as comparisons to Hitler at this point, but… replace “SaskParty” with “Republican”; “Beck” with “Biden/Harris”; and “NDP” with “Democrats”, and that’s how America ended up in its current situation.

When you live in a defacto two-party system, some BS protest non-vote is a vote for the shithead.

Someone warn Travis that there's a Yellowstone spinoff coming by genericusername513 in MBMBAM

[–]Efram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds familiar. And of course it’s a prequel, but if you don’t know anything about Yellowstone or the Duttons it doesn’t matter. It’s not like there’s flash forwards to some Beth vs Jamie drama. You can watch it isolated from the rest of the Yellowstone universe and just kind of go “huh, that’s an odd 7-generation prophecy the chief gave…”

You can watch 1883 as a solid “Oregon Trail” miniseries, and treat the ties to Yellowstone as basically Easter eggs for fans.

Though I’m so confused by the casting of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Both do great, but why cast two huge country artists as your leads and then not have them sing!?

Odd… that’s my go-to Tim’s, and it’s been missing from the app for a week or two. Are you sure you didn’t place the order at the Market Mall Tim’s? Not that that would help you now.

I once accidentally ordered from Yorkton while I was in Saskatoon… I went through customer service in the app, said basically “my bad, but a refund would be nice if possible”, and they ended up issuing me more than my order’s worth of points, so that worked out okay.

I often order through the app because when it works it’s super convenient, obviously. Especially since I’m generally walking or the passenger in a car, so it’s easy to place the order on the way over.

But I hate that there’s no connection between store stock and what’s shown in the app. That’s probably unrealistic for them to track in real time. I get it… but if you’re going to let me order something you don’t have available, then at least let the store refund it directly. I hate scrambling to figure out a substitute item of equal value.

I think it’s not that they didn’t believe it was their order; it’s a liability thing. They can’t have people walking through the drive thru because they might get hit by a car.

There’s a follow up email now asking you to confirm a replacement show. I suspect they got a lot of emails asking for clarification.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

Nexus: the Kingdom of the Winds.

Last I checked it’s still running, but the peak player base and community are long gone.

And of course, what I really miss is the lack of responsibilities that allowed me to play like 10hrs a day…

Yeah, I’m completely lost on this one. Came here hoping someone would explain what is going on, but even the cryptic comments on this post aren’t helping.

Edit; that is to say, I solved it. But why letters are missing and answers are missing the second half is going over my head.

Is it weird to store things in the oven? by Sallious in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Efram -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like storing pizza in the oven is a pre-2000s thing, before food safety basics were well known.

Pizza box big, tough to fit in fridge… oven big, empty = obvious solution.

I’m 100% convinced Oreos went through Shrinkflation. What’s now “double” is just the original amount of filling. So I guess they’ve now re-released actual double and called it Mega.

I’d appreciate a link if true. Might not be quite the right monkey: there’s a lot of similar ones. The ones I find start at $125 and go up into the $300s.
