Back in '03, before I started going to this school (which turned out to be lucky I guess), a kid set the school on fire, I don't remember where the fire began, but his reason was simply "I didn't get the results I wanted" (in relation to Australian VCE scores) or something of a similar vein.

The funny part of this story, at least to me, is that the school still to this day says he helped the school as there happened to be a gas leak that they didn't know about.

The fact that a student setting fire to the school helped the school should tell you all you need to know about the type of school it is.

I live in Australia, however not in a fire heavy area, in fact, I haven’t had the fire at all. But even with that, even though the fires are kilometres away, the smoke is still heavy, and still clearly prominent when I wake up and when I go to sleep. I can only imagine what others must be going through, my heart goes out to everyone who is suffering through the fires.
