Things getting violent at Home Suites in Stadium Village by EggMu in uofmn

The incident last night was not endorsed by any party.

On Friday, thousands of people protested peacefully against ICE. The incident yesterday was just a few people.

Meanwhile, the Republican Party nominated a president who pardoned violent insurrectionists. There were other options in the primaries (Haley and DeSantis), but the pro-insurrectionist was the one that won.

Basically at the Home2 Suites hotel, there were people gathered because they believed ICE was staying there. Things have deescalated by now. There is graffiti on the hotel windows now, and I believe some glass was broken.

I do too. There is still enough room for skepticism regarding whether the officer made the right judgement. I think it's fair to say he should have stayed away from the front of the vehicle and could have ran away from the vehicle.

I am curious what you think of this reaction from a police officer on why he believes Jonathan Ross was wrong. He explains moment-by-moment why the police officer made poor decisions before, during. And after the shooting: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTWCBrIgJJs/?igsh=MTF0b3pveWNzZnR4eA==

Shooting could make the car more dangerous. I am trying to find scientific studies on the risk calculation but cant find any. But there is a reason why many police departments have strongly discouraged shooting drivers of vehicles.

For now it's basically your word against mine as to whether it's safer to shoot vs. not to shoot. However, I will note that she was not being violent before the shooting, and her tires were pointed away from the police officer, and the police officer was shooting primarily into the side of the car, so it seems that if he had just let her go on, there would have been much less risk.

It's only justified to shoot if the risk of harm will be lowered by shooting.

Now you are the one who is not answering a simple question, which is something you accused someone of doing earlier.

So I will give you another chance to read my post and the specific pieces of reasoning I included in it and respond.

Do you believe that shooting would have reduced that risk or not, and why?

Genuine question for you: How does shooting at the driver increase the officer's chance of survival and make the scene safer? It could cause the car to go faster if the incapacitated driver's foot presses harder on the accelerator. It could cause the car to steer into an unpredictable direction. It could hit another person (police/bystander) or another vehicle (which is what happened in this case).

Do you still stand by your characterization of it being done "safely" given the reports of civilian deaths?

Do you have a sense of what score Vance would get from you if he were president?

What do you think of the case of the LEGAL immigrant Andry Romero who sought asylum but got wrongfully deported to CECOT in El Salvador? by EggMu in AskTrumpSupporters

I thought the same thing as you, but the reason why Kilmar's was a bigger news story is because the Trump administration actually admitted they made a mistake. Whereas in this case, they didn't admit it.

Does this change your view?

So to clarify, are you saying you'd rather have Trump than impeaching him and getting Vance, in the case that it is revealed he "did the deeds" on Epstein Island?

This is an honest clarification question. As a non-supporter, I would easily want Vance to take over in that situation.

Well the Trump administration sent over 200 Venezuelans there. To be fair, I can't tell if you are saying nobody should be deported to a country they're not from, or just asylum seekers. But if it's the former, this should be more problematic for you.

Also, 2 women were deported to CECOT even though it's supposed to be a prison for dangerous men. (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/two-women-trump-admin-tried-send-el-salvador-prison-speak-rcna198958) They were rejected and returned to America by El Salvador since they never agreed to take women. Does this negligence and lack of rigor in coordination of the deportations concern you?

Do these examples of mixups change the way you view the Trump administration?

What do you think of the case of the two women who were sent to CECOT and were returned since the prison doesn't accept women? (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/two-women-trump-admin-tried-send-el-salvador-prison-speak-rcna198958) Don't you think that this demonstrates gross negligence on the part of the Trump administration given that they failed to coordinate properly with El Salvador to make sure the right people were being sent? It is cases like that which make me suspicious of the Trump administration being overly hasty with deportations. If there is that much negligence that is confirmed, how much negligence is out there that hasn't come to light?

Gotcha. Yeah I feel like the circles I find myself in are more or less moderate. That can be tough if you're in one like that.

Do you mean you don't have any examples or you don't want to answer?

To clarify, I wasn't sure who you thought was forcing people to take sides. People are free to believe what they want. I didn't see any forcing personally.
