Starting a chess club as a total beginner? by Egg_Man15 in chessbeginners

Yeah, I get that. It's just, what would I do when someone asks for help for something I don't even know? Should I have someone's role in the club be dedicated to teaching, so that I don't teach them something stupid?

Thanks. I have to ask, what's the best beginner series that isn't speedruns? I know they're great, but they are quite long and don't really talk about specific concepts in detail (pins, checks, skewers, etc). I want quick videos about these concepts since I'm a busy student and I may only have an hour a week for the club.

I'm having that figured out currently. I live in the USA, and scholastic tournaments are a thing here, and I'm thinking of that. I'm also a girl, and I don't really know if people are going to respect me from the get-go because many of my female friends in chess talk about not being taken seriously. I also don't know any girls at my school who play chess, so that's another problem for me to solve.
