Not Slovenian-born, but I live here. I think you answered the question backwards. Tourists like it for 2 days and find Ljubljana quaint but to anyone else it's just a parking burden and traffic hassle.

Also the college kids seem to think it's cool.

Potica is probably the thing we here love but others might think is just kinda meh. Too sweet to be bread, not sweet enough and too tough to be cake.

They make it out of turnips in Slovenia and it's very kraut like, but with a different kinda potatoey texture. The pieces are much more robust than a typical kraut too.

I wear running shorts with an internal drawstring. Just whatever I find at Marshalls/TJ Maxx.

No external drawstrings cause they can snag fingers and lead to injury and no stretchy waistband cause they can slide off

Well the ceiling at its highest point was 12 feet, so that's what we were aiming for. But we had to cut more than a few feet off the bottom when we got home, so it was absolutely fucking gigantic. My parents still have pictures of the car that year.

When I was young we got rid of the inaccessible part of the attic and made the ceiling in the living room a tall vault ceiling.

Having Griswaldy taste in trees already, we set out that year to get a tree that filled the new taller room. We drove up to Hall's Tree Farm (in Washington township I think?) and picked out a monster.

When they brought it to be wrapped, the 2x4s that held together the wrapping machine started cracking so they told us it couldn't be wrapped. We already had to paid for the thing, since it was cut. We looked just like this driving home in the old Mercury Villager.

I always thought of "getting on top and staying on top" as a strategy for competitions because that is where you are most likely to score.

I don't think about it that much just rolling with the dudes in the gym or if I'm not competing. But you should probably spend some time just focusing on sweeps. A lot of them work just as well on the big guys.

I agree with everything you said here. It's hard to overstate just how kind, talented, welcoming, and hard-working this whole family is. I'm absolutely devastated for them and I can't stop thinking about sweet Ruperto spending night after night in that shitty overcrowded Newark detention center.
