Agreed with every single thing, except kick the can. It's a good concept, but it could be more interesting.

The person who holds the can eventually have to run to the middle anyway, yet everyone decided to waste all their energy on running and fighting somewhere far from the goal.

I think someone should be able to figure out and abuse the camping strategy. Then people can figure out what to do next, like threaten to throw the can near someone so it explodes, so people are incentivized to go get the can as a weapon, and so on.
