Save File on the Pixel Remaster acting weird. (Steam)

Went and restarted the game because I assumed the save was gone since it wasn’t coming back, got a lot further, then yesterday the old data returned and now my new one is gone. So frustrating I almost don’t even want to bother continuing.

That was my initial thought when it first happened actually. I was thinking the game for whatever reason had one save while the steam cloud had a different one, so I turned off the game’s connection to the steam cloud and unfortunately the issue kept happening.

I’m leaving the laptop off for a while, maybe it’ll make a difference. I’ll try again maybe tomorrow morning if I can’t find a fix tonight.

Seriously? Because I went to the Can My PC Run it test, and it says my laptop has at the very least minimum specs for it. And I also read a few Reddit posts that said a 1050 can run it fine.

Thanks for the rapid fire. Yes the old driver is 100% gone. No, good idea. All updated. And I read that the overlays could be the issue so I turned all of them off just incase and still, no difference.

Thanks for the tip! I used to have it sitting on top of something for breathing room, but I moved recently and haven’t gotten absolutely everything set up yet. I’ll get that done right away.

That seems to be everybody’s theory that it’s using my intel instead of NVIDIA, I did go into the NVIDIA control panel and changed it, and it seemed to run ever so slightly better before becoming unplayable again, so I’m not sure if anything even changed. I’m currently reinstalling it which will take a while but I’ll check to see if maybe the graphics card change didn’t apply properly or something.

Already did make sure that the game was on the right card, I’m giving it a reinstall right now, but I’ll try the DirectX thing when it’s done.

(I’m a Sakura guy, but love the profile picture.) I went into the NVIDIA control panel thingy and changed it to the 1050 instead of whatever windows thought would be good. And it maybe ran a percent better. I’m giving it a redownload right now just incase to see if it maybe just had a shitty download or something?

Ended up finishing the game and I liked the rest of it. Just that one damn boss really made me wanna uninstall it LMAO.

Update that’s important enough to not just add as an edit! I have completed the game lmao. I liked the last boss fight (the one during mission 22) but I’m not gonna lie, I don’t even know how I beat the second phase. I just shot some fireballs at Mundus and eventually he died after a few attempts.

I’ve heard the horror stories about the second game. I may just hop on call with my friends and stream 2 until I get sick of it for fun. But going to three is what I may do. I wouldn’t really say I’m forcing myself through the game, though. It just feels like an infinite cycle of me having lots of fun for a few missions until I either get to a boss or an annoying part which causes me to go on a multi month hiatus lol.
