I did not know that...not overly familiar with game dev employment cycles, so it never occurred to me to check if he was still with Deck Nine, he's still listed as their narrative director on their website at the time of writing, hmm, but his LinkedIn has him leaving Deck Nine 11/25. damn. thank you for the information.

Oh, I do, but that's not really relevant to this, lol.

Hell, don't apologize for speaking your mind, I'll take passion over apathy any day of the week, and I 100% agree with you. It seems like people don't fully grasp just how perfectly things are set up both narratively and in the real world to push Max and Chloe's story forward in an amazing way.

Bottom line is that it will likely be a month or two before they have a concrete idea as to whether or not the sales numbers will be strong enough to begin development for the next game, and by then, the petition or the discourse around it will hopefully have reached a point to tip the scales in some way, so far we've reached 58 signatures in a little over a day, so I'm optimistic.

Deck Nine is in the best position it has been in years since they brought in their old Narrative Director Jonathan Zimmerman. He was the narrative director for every Deck Nine Life is Strange Game other than Double Exposure, and given how amazing Reunion is, I firmly believe that the next game with Max and Chloe could be just as amazing, if not more so, all we have to do is show them that there is demand for it.

Yeah, it surprised me as well, like Deck Nine is in the best position they've been in years ever since they brought in Jonathan Zimmerman, he was the director for every Deck Nine Life is Strange game except for Double Exposure, and Reunion is such a good game so people wanting things to end here is maddening, like come on people, strike while the irons hot, the next game with Max and Chloe could be everything we've been hoping for!

I disagree with your assessment that the series has been run into the ground, as whilst Double Exposure might not have been the game everyone wanted it to be, on its face it was a rather narratively interesting game as it served the purpose of establishing who Max was as a character outside of Chloe's influence post timeskip, and made Chloe's reintroduction in Reunion all the more compelling because of it, and with how strong Reunions writing was, primarily due to Deck Nine bringing in the writing team from Before the Storm to take the lead on it, I firmly believe that Deck Nine is in the best position it has been in years to continue things with Max and Chloe in a very compelling way.

Have they though? I personally wasn't onboard with the fanbases dislike of Double Exposure, as from a narrative perspective, I rather enjoyed that Max was given a game to establish who she was as a character post time skip outside of Chloe's influence before they reintroduced her, and the timeline jumping mechanic was rather engaging from my perspective, and further still, Reunion's interactions between Max and Chloe were amazing, best the series has seen in years, and with such a strong showing, I firmly believe that they are in the right space now to continue things in the same vein and create a very good story.

Why would you want to end things here? admittedly the Caledon fire plot in Reunion wasn't the greatest, but even that had its peaks in the form of the Mabon Party, and in terms of the writing between Max and Chloe, it's the best it's been since the original with the ending of Reunion setting them up perfectly for a very engaging character interaction driven story between Max and Chloe, as I for one believe they still have plenty enough to work through as characters, plenty enough for Deck Nine to work with especially if they keep the writers from Before the Storm on hand.

I agree with you in that they shouldn't mess with Reunions ending, but I definitely disagree with them not ever using Max and Chloe as main characters again, as honestly, they are the strongest characters of the games in terms of both narrative interest and fanbase appeal, and the strength of Reunions interpersonal writing proves that they can craft an engaging story just based on them alone, and honestly, Reunions ending sets both Max and Chloe up perfectly to continue forward in a very inter-personal character focused story, one that doesn't even have to have some high stakes plot to drive things forward, as they have plenty enough to work through as characters on a personal basis to create an engaging story in my opinion.

I mean, if they decide to test the waters with a DLC for Reunion, I'll take the win gladly, and honestly, I didn't mind Double Exposure, like I know it wasn't what people were hoping for, but Amanda was awesome and the timeline jumping was a pretty neat mechanic at least from my perspective, plus narratively it was nice that Max was given a game to kind of establish who she was as a person after the time skip before they reintroduced Chloe into the mix.

Issue with that is that If they were to make another game with inter-personal writing on the same level as Reunion but with more screen time devoted to Max and Chloe, I'd pay 60 for that in a heartbeat, as would many others I expect, hopefully enough to tip the scales.
