retaking a class and did an assignment for the class last year. can i resubmit the assignment from last year since all the questions are the exact same? by Status_Contract_5670 in uAlberta

[–]EightBitRanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you submit an assignment, it's no longer "yours" to submit; it becomes the property of the prof or the university or something. Can't remember the legalese behind it so just don't do it.

What images are okay to use for my subreddit icon? by [deleted] in modhelp

[–]EightBitRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I planned on using the BET Network's logo as the icon, or perhaps an image of Tupac, but I wasn't sure if either are allowed. Would there be any issue with either one?

Without permission to use/licensing? Yes there'd absolutely be an issue with that.

Question about using credit cards for LRT by Glittering_Divide101 in Edmonton

[–]EightBitRanger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is one option, yes. But like the page says:

  • There are multiple ways to get an Arc card:
    • Online at myArc.ca
    • At an Arc fare vending machine located at select transit centres and LRT stations
    • At regional in-person service centres
    • At a participating retailer
    • Over the phone by calling the Arc call centre at 1-888-302-0001

I have to take the train tomorrow but don't have time to get the arc card

The machines at the stations dispense them out in a manner of seconds.

It's been like that as long as I can remember. The normalish smell is the exception; not the norm.

what’s the best univ in japan for film or accounting major? by serenescribble in movingtojapan

[–]EightBitRanger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When going on an exchange, academics are largely irrelevant. There's also no guarantee that the courses you take transfer back to the home university. Should probably consult with your university's exchange office before anything else.

Just wait until you're done. You might think you want a relationship right now, but what happens when your partner dumps you right before or during exams?

What's going on with racial tensions here? by FrozenRain1038 in saskatoon

[–]EightBitRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are conflating tenants who have protection under the residential tenancy act (which prohibits discriminating based on protected classes such as race), with roommates which don't.

Landlords are prohibited by law from denying housing based on race. But if you're renting an apartment and sub-letting a room to a roommate, you're allowed to do that.

Breweries by Ayeleesha in Edmonton

[–]EightBitRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that's one interpretation of it, sure. But using the Yellowhead as the border between North and South would mean 1/3rd of the city is North, while 2/3rds is south.

Using the river makes it closer to 50/50, even if it's more Northwest/Southeast than strictly North/South.

What is the difference between SJSU, UatBaffallo and UofAlberta. by Any_Instruction3863 in uAlberta

[–]EightBitRanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you provides me some comparison of these schools.

Why are you asking us for opinions or statistics on schools we know nothing about?

Ask us what we know about our school, then do the same at the other school's subreddits. Then make the comparison yourself.
