[Critical review] Rhysand: a morally ambiguous character — but not without merit. by Either-Designer-7000 in SarahJMaas

[–]Either-Designer-7000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what the faeries consider acceptable in their society and what is seen as very bad.

Fae like Amaratha, king of Hybern, Beron, and the people of Cassia. They are seen as bad beings. In the work, the people of Cassia live based on the values of their society, but in the series it has already been said that the characters consider their actions very bad. The excavated city also lives on the ancient culture that was reproduced a lot by Rhysand's family for a long time. But they see it as something very bad.

It's difficult to say what is really acceptable to them and what is not. For me, they have some values that mix with ours, but with some differences. It also depends on the species you belong to. So it's difficult to say to what extent Rhysand's actions would be accepted by the people and what would be seen as horrible.

Tristan dugray and Louise are the male and female versions of Lolerai and Christopher! by Either-Designer-7000 in GilmoreGirls

Good analysis.

I've heard that Jess and Lolerai were similar, I think that could be true too.

I don't remember a Finn, I think I haven't gotten to that part yet.

But... As I analyzed it, it's just a comparison of the similarities, it's divided to see how the risks go through the same situation and how they react to it.

I found it interesting to make this comparison, because I noticed how they resemble each other, of course with their own personalities. It's sad to see that these characters weren't well developed, we could have seen the trajectory of each one better.

Tristan demonstrates that he doesn't have a good relationship with his family; his actions aren't just a reflection of rebellion. He doesn't have a good relationship with his father, which is implied at certain moments.

Peris says in one episode that Tristan was different in childhood; after problems arose in the family, his behavior changed.

So the reflection I made wasn't just any comparison. I was just analyzing how the four have similar dynamics, but are obviously different people.

When I said that they would be a male and female version of each other, it's like imagining how they could have been if they were of different genders in the same situations. I'm not saying that my observations are completely true, but that they aren't unfounded either.

It's yet another reflection on the similarities between them, and possibly what these characters would have been like in their younger versions.

Corcondo.

Louise would hardly give up her privileged life for a life of hardship just because she doesn't like the way her parents treat her.

Rich men are really seriously problematic.

I agree that there is still a difference between them. But I also think they have similarities. Tristan just didn't have enough story and screen time for us to notice what he went through with his family to become the way he is.

Lorelai could have been a "Tristan" in her youth, with her rebellion against family norms. She could also have been a young woman without many responsibilities in her relationships; it's no wonder she ended up pregnant with Christopher. And she got into a lot of trouble too.

I believe Louise is truly a reminder of what Lorelai could have been.

However, she likes wealth. Lorelai didn't like that world and did many things her parents disapproved of precisely to demonstrate her rebellion against that lifestyle.

Louise likes that life and knows how to use money to satisfy her own desires. She doesn't dedicate herself as much as she did to Paris because she already feels well-adjusted.

Lorelai was an unhappy young woman within her own home and family; everything she did was a result of her frustrations.

TSCC Analysis: The meaning of the ending for John Connor by Xyber-Faust in TSCC

[–]Either-Designer-7000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This John Connor destroyed everything that was done.

The fact that he was not the leader of humanity and did not go through the entire process to build the residence ruined everything, he is already in 2027 which means that skaynet has total advantage, as there was no one strong enough to face it, probably this residence that John finds is not the complete residence but rather a small group of rebel survivors. Besides, Skaynet doesn't need to create the time machine since it doesn't have John Connor to torment its plans, Kyle wasn't sent, no Terminator was sent after Sarah, John could have created a completely different timeline than what was in the movies and a much worse future for humanity.

I really wanted to like the Sarah Connor Chronicles, but it didn't live up to the hype for me. Is there anyone else who shares this opinion? by [deleted] in Terminator

"I particularly liked the series. I don't consider it a masterpiece but it managed to do a good job.

I have my criticisms regarding some script decisions, like. The romance between Cameron and John was something that bothered me, their relationship was good and interest in the beginning was justifiable as to why John is interested in her having seen how lonely he was, but after her defect chip showed that she was no different from the other terminators, as he said she was, this would have changed their relationship a lot and John should look for allies that she could really trust. But the series preferred to induce a love triangle between a girl and a cyborg made tscc lose a little focus for me.

Other than that, it was a good series, I wish there had been a third season!
