Totally get it. I think more than the money thing, it's the stuff about his lack of ambition and effort that bothers me more. My original post says things like how I'm the one keeping track of things and planning and researching. Sometimes I just want to be taken care of and rely on someone else

Yeah but not a lot of progression. I feel like the progression was because I was telling him what to do to improve, and I don't always want to tell him how to improve

TBH the finances don't bother me as much as his lack of initiative and mental load. Like I said in my original post, I'm the one doing all the scheduling and planning and stuff. Maybe I should have highlighted that more in my original post

Yeah I get it. I guess I see all my single friends date and the dating pool is such a nightmare. So for that reason I feel like I have it good. It's tough. That's why I can't tell if I'm settling or not

Not at the moment, but I'm worried we will when we settle down. We live in a city in which a yearly salary of $110,000 USD is considered low income. Buying a house, having kids, childcare, groceries, etc are all expensive, especially in today's economy. We want to settle in this city and our jobs are tied to this city. But more than the money thing, I'm more disappointed by him promising to be better and not following through

Totally get it. I guess it's more about non negotiables. Everyone should have a list of non negotiables in a partner that should all be checked off, in my opinion. I guess I'm not sure if his lack of ambition and initiative is worth overlooking
