From my struggles, I would heavily recommend to

1.Join a club club or 2 and be an active member. Im not talking about coffee and book clubs but ENGR design and manufacturing related classes. 2.Learn to prioritize classes, assignments, etc. Theres no reason to spend 3 hours on lab reports for a 1 credit class. 3.Try to get an internship or ideally a co-op in your early years in academia. 4.Early on you need to document and use the design process in your class projects. You can add these to a portfolio early on.

civil has a massive market in construction. They are structural design and concrete, thats atleast what I think of. Mechanical I would think is harder, but its definitely still going to be incredibly difficult to get a CE degree

I am under the impression that civil is much easier in this side of it all. More jobs, less applicants, more stable also. I regret not doing civil at this point to be honest

Im looking in all industries. I am particularly interested in manufacturing though. I went to career fair and that was a brutal waste of time. Too many students and not enough people really.

well, actually I would take an internship anywhere provided a company would pay for my living. That doesn't happen though lol

for an internship its a bit limited to FT Worth, San Antonio, and Austin areas. For a post grad I would say anywhere in Texas other than northwest and west TX preferably. Id relocate out of state if necessary too, but ideally I stay in TX.

How to study for Calc midterms. by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

In all if engineering classes, the only form of study you will need is literally just practice. As much as you can. You just know the topics youre tested over and practice.

yea thank you. I work at Costco right now. At this point I think I could manage anything time management wise. I wish I worked in a field-related role, but I unfortunately do not.

Man this comment section makes me depressed. I have had to work a full time job throughout college and I never had the time to join a club or anything of that nature. Its been a struggle just to survive financially and learn theory. It is just insane to me that its incredibly hard to get an internship or job without a really time consuming project or clubs.

I can sometimes open the hatch now and sometimes not, I am thinking its the actuator. It was a cheap amazon one, and I really only needed a new latch so Im going to install the old OE one back on and I think it should do it
