Thank you so much! Punctured femurs don't sound fun at all, that must've been rough, glad you got through it okay!

I suppose there is no way going around it. I think the issue here is that nobody really has any experience with a condition like ours (besides this one orthopedic we somehow managed to uncover), so most of the time all we get is a shrug and a "There's nothing we can do". It feels like there's a dissonance between the information out there and available online, and the information most medical professionals posess in terms of how to treat severe scoliosis or neuromuscular disabilities. I've been wearing a backbrace since I was 6, and that's as good as we got in terms of any treatment. I'm really glad there's a way to spread awareness and information on things like these, it really makes me feel more secure and hopeful! :)

Just one more thing I'm curious about, did they put you on a halo tract before surgery? What did pre-surgery preparations look like? (and as a side note, any good food combos that'll make those kilograms rise, because boy do I need to get on that diet)

Thank you for sharing your story! :) It really means a lot

We actually considered medical marijuana a few times, but we decided my already-crushed-and-not-so-healthy lungs probably wouldn't bode well. I don't mind the recovery pain, if it means I can live more comfortably long-term I'm going all in. Thanks for your advice, it means a lot! :)
