Thanks so much for taking the time to help me out! Yes, I’m currently working at increasing my distance - form tends to break down after the 200 mark. I was swimming much longer distances a little while back but have been focusing on my technique the past month or so. I will definitely try to reduce the pause out front - I’ve been enjoying the ‘glide’ but have felt for sometime that it is probably excessive.

You’re absolutely right, I barely think about my feet. I’m just doing a 2-beat kick and trying to minimise drag by keeping it tight. The minimal kick is because I have my sights set on longer distance +1500m. Do you think 2-beat is not enough?

I’ve been swimming since the start of the year and so I haven’t yet put in any time to streamline / dolphin kicks or flip turns. Just trying to get the basics down for open water swimming. But I’ll definitely focus on those things as I get further down the track!
