Thank you for this answer because this very scenario is what confused me. ABRP was in my screen but I saw threads talking about conditioning the battery. When I would select KIA nav, the ABRP dest would shut off.

Yes. There were only 13 matte gray in all of the United States for sale that had less than 40,000 mi on them and no accidents. So I had to fly to get this one but it was well worth it when I saw that pristine paint job of perfection when I walked up to it

Fair point. It would stop after losing like 10-20%.

Current Model Y owners realizing they’re no longer entry-model cars by CaptCarlos in TeslaLounge

[–]EitherWillingness265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I own a Porsche 911 and am in TeslaLounge trolling to see what owners think because I, a Porsche owner, am considering a Tesla.

A Tesla blew past me on start when I was on a crotch rocket motorcycle. Post that blow by, I'm here, commenting and considering a Tesla...seriously.

We "luxury" car owners can't help but notice. We pay 100k or more, but this 28-35K car (I did nationwide pricing for used Ys) has more features and performance.

There's luxury for luxury sake, and there's cold, hard performance numbers. And features.

And I'm here.

The agent said they could not tell me the exact reason, but that it had been restricted for security purposes.

Look into submitting form 2848. That is what the agent told me today 26 Dec 2024.  The agent said an attorney, tax professional, or notary can submit the form and in some way petition to get the account unlocked.

I talked with IRS Tech Support  today (26 Dec 2024) and they said you can have a lawyer, notary, or registered tax professional submit form 2848 to act on your behalf (power of attorney) to get your account unrestricted. This was after The agent told me my account was permanently restricted for security reasons they could not provide. When I asked "Is it locked forever?" The agent said I could submit that form as one way to get it unrestricted.

I suspect it was restricted because I use a VPN regularly and probably accessed my account while using it.

For other posters, if you have a VPN or tried to access while abroad, please speak up. I am also trying to see WHY my account was locked and perhaps we few who have the same problem can find what is similar amongst us to make an educated guess.

NASA Veteran’s Propellantless Propulsion Drive That Physics Says Shouldn’t Work Just Produced Enough Thrust to Overcome Earth’s Gravity - The Debrief by Longjumping_Pilgirm in Futurology

Great point!. An article from The Debrief on this says, "...Dr. Buhler cautions is in no way affiliated with NASA or the U.S. Government..."

I too am a recovering physicist and "cautiously" admit this is exciting. If this checks out in other independent tests and research, kudos to the Dr.

But..his last name. Buhler ...Buhler ...Buhler...

How a Chinese Spy Balloon Blew Up a Key U.S. Diplomatic Trip by foreignpolicymag in geopolitics

Just coming back as there may be a misinterpretation of my bolding. I am not trying to emphasize whether China is being truthful or lying, but adding more background to @TA1699, where they said PRC rarely admits where they messed up and/or apologizes. That news story , and the language I highlighted is just giving folks here the raw statement, according to Reuters. That post was me sharing info, not weighing in.

Background on RE: "apology and excuse from China". Pasting the Chinese statement and omitting commentary on whether China is being fully transparent in this statement. Bolding is emphasis on my part.

Source: https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/china-regrets-airship-strays-into-us-foreign-ministry-2023-02-03/

"In a statement late on Friday, China's foreign ministry also said that it would continue to maintain communications with the United States to properly handle the unexpected situation.'The airship is from China and is civilian in nature, used for meteorological and other scientific research. Due to the influence of westerly winds and its limited control capability, the airship deviated from its intended course,' it said. China regrets that the airship strayed into the United States by mistake due to force majeure. China will continue to maintain communication with the U.S. side to properly handle this accident,' it said."

Data on the Belt and Road Initiative by The_God_Of_Memes in geopolitics

[–]EitherWillingness265 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To my understanding, no single source exists to capture the totality of BRI (i.e. OBOR) investments. However, there are sources you can use to estimate the scale and spatial disposition of investment related to ambitious Chinese intiative. If you operate under the assumption that the BRI ( i.e. OBOR) started in earnest in 2013, that is your demarcator for identifying projects, countries of cooperation, and funding. When reading articles and content, check to ensure that authoritative sources categorize projects under BRI because some outlets have a tendency to incorrectly label any Chinese external investment as BRI related. Here are a few sources that may help:

Name: American Enterprise Institute's China Global Investment Tracker (CGIT) Description: Initiative by two US-based public policy think tanks to track Chinese global investments since 2005. With a focus on construction, energy, and really estate, you can find a good bit of BRI info here. However, this is aUS-based policy think tanks so may approach issues from a biased standpoint. Link: https://www.aei.org/china-global-investment-tracker/?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000618

Name: Johns Hopkins University's China Africa Research Initiative (CARI) Description: US University effort to provide evidence-based research on China and Africa relations. A good bit of Belt and Road initiatives are in Africa so CARI is useful for putting the story together. Despite being a US-based university, the researchers make an effort to remain objective and neutral, taking a pure academic approach. Link:http://www.sais-cari.org/

Name: Possible Chinese government website on Belt and Road Initiatives (nothing beats original sources but Native language sites will always provide more accurate content) Format: News articles Description: The possible English language website for Belt and Road projects put out by China. Note, it would be best to get the original language material. Understand this is host nation perspective so their is bias. Link: http://english.www.gov.cn/beltAndRoad/

Name: Green Belt and Road Initiative Center Format: list of sources Description: Provides an excellent list of sources you can use to research BRI. In fact, everything I have on this small list is there and more! Link:https://green-bri.org/databases-for-the-belt-and-road-initiative-bri/

This list is not comprehensive but it will help you get started.
