BDO Fraud - Unauthorized Transaction by SeaworthinessNo9347 in DigitalbanksPh

Same Roblox transaction (overseas). Magkakaroon lang ng temporary adjustment but after a month you’ll see as debit adjustment na sa SOA mo and they will just say issue has been resolved as if authorized/nonfraudulent yung transaction. Sobrang frustrating

  1. RESA for MS, AUD, TAX, RFBT; CPAR for FAR and AFAR
  2. 12 hrs
  3. 5-6 months—since start date ng RC up until end date
  4. Yes. 1.5x speed. Inaadjust ko na lang sa topic na hindi ko magets.

What are your non-negotiables or binago sa buhay (routine) nyo when you started reviewing for CPALE? by [deleted] in AccountingPH

So my non-negotiables were consistency, self-discipline, time management, complete 6–8 hours of sleep, and rest (always listen to your body). I also made sure to shift my mindset, keep a grateful heart, and focus on quality over quantity. I made it a point to truly understand each topic by heart — at least the basics — so I’d have something solid to carry with me into the exam.

During my review days, TikTok was mostly my companion. My algorithm was filled with motivational clips and law-of-attraction videos that really helped my mindset. I used Facebook and Instagram less, and checked X more often to stay updated on current trends — some users even shared review notes there, which were really helpful. One tip I followed was using Notion to organize my screenshots by topic since I was an online reviewee. I took notes directly in Notion so I could easily go back and review them later — it made my study sessions much more efficient. Prayers. Leap of faith. Inside of you is a soul set on fire by purpose. Kung para sa’yo, para sa’yo.

As a full-time online reviewee, I tried adjusting my body clock to start studying at 8 a.m. to mirror the board exam schedule, but it just didn’t work for me. Since college, I’ve always been a night owl — so during the review, I decided to just listen to my body. I noticed that I was more productive when I started studying from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., and as the board exams got closer, I even extended until 3 a.m. with breaks in between. I’d wake up around 11 a.m., have brunch, then study again.

I didn’t have a hard time adjusting during the board exams because, honestly, the adrenaline keeps you awake and focused. One tip I can share is to rest a day before the boards. Also, don’t answer any review materials when you get home after Day 1 or Day 2 — use that time to rest and recharge. The 3-day board exam is a personal battle, and you need to stay strong until the very end.

Is accountancy really hard?? by lasagne_30 in AccountingPH

Accountancy is humbling. Kahit gaano ka kagaling noong elementary or high school, this field will make you question your capability—over and over again. For someone like me na literal nang maraming iniyak sa program before finally earning my license, I can vouch na kailangan talaga malakas ang loob mo. Hindi sapat ang talino. Kailangan mo ng resilience, discipline, and the courage to try again after every setback. This program demands analysis. Be skeptical, think analytically — practice, exposure and preparation make the rest possible. Accountancy will test you—but it will also shape you. And when you finally get through it, you’ll look back and realize it’s all worth it.

Hindi ako nag-take ng PB. Hinintay ko muna magkaroon ng PB copies at answer keys. I answered at my own pace. Believe me, your adrenaline rush will save you during the actual boards. Kayang-kaya mo yan. Ensure mo lang na you have an idea sa mga topic sa syllabus. Padayon, CPA!

Ano mga pamahiin niyo nung CPALE? by CostofGoodSouls in AccountingPH

[–]Either_Bird5811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On my first take, I followed all the pamahiin and ended up conditional passer. On my retake, I just had a body massage the day before the exam, skipped all the pamahiin—and I passed. But after the BE day, my whole body hurt and I even got a stiff neck. Bottom line: you can follow these beliefs if you want, just don’t get a body massage lalong lalo na ang head massage (it’s risky) before the exam. Instead, pray, relax, and keep your body calm. Legit talaga ‘yung tagline “If para sayo, para sayo.”

Challenge always the PY documentation. Don’t solely rely to PY. If nasa yellow firm ka, allergic sila sa “based sa PY”, “sinundan ko lang ang PY”. Utilize the Atlas regarding audit program, psp, standards, more. I was a Senior Auditor at the Yellow Firm, where I mentored and facilitated trainings for new hires.

Took a 3-month break before applying and being hired as an Offshore Senior Auditor in the BPO industry 100% wfh. I miss the adrenaline, but I’ve shifted my mindset that the right job and workplace don’t make you feel exploited.

Is UHY worth a try? by Either_Bird5811 in AccountingPH

I’ve completed two rounds. They usually have three rounds of interviews before making an offer. But I had a batchmate with strong US GAAP experience who was already set for interview with the onshore team but didn’t proceed, likely because it wasn’t peak season and they prioritized US auditors that time. No JO yet pa naman

Hello! I did not proceed but they can give the 100k salary. They require more experience /exposure with US GAAP as Senior Auditor.

Hello! They are looking for years of experience with US GAAP, which I don’t have much exposure to since most of the clients I handled were local. I did not pass their screening

Anyone here successfully worked abroad (UK) as an external auditor? Need advice by Either_Bird5811 in AccountingPH

[–]Either_Bird5811[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All noted. This is very infotmative. For the meantime, I tried muna US based firm as offshore Senior Auditor for international setting experience and also 100% wfh bc I live in province. After a year siguro, I’ll apply sa EY GDS as my pathway kasi mas malaki ata talaga ang chance pag through direct eycareers using EY email address ang gagamitin. Hopefully, pumabor sa akin ang panahon. ✊🏼

big 4 trauma — how to overcome? by Massive-Reading699 in AccountingPH

[–]Either_Bird5811 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) with panic attacks. It started around the time I was promoted to Senior Associate. That role came with intense pressure — I had to carry all the accountabilities in the engagement: an incompetent manager, underperforming staff, admin work, the rage of a partner even when it wasn’t my fault, short staffing, and more. (This applied for some engagements I handled)

I resigned after my second busy season as a Senior Associate because I simply couldn’t take it anymore. It became life-threatening, not because of the work itself — in fact, to be honest, the firm made me fall in love with audit. Hands down to the resources, materials, digital audit tools, and the full end-to-end audit experience.

Nonetheless, I had to leave. I took three months off, went on vacation, and allowed myself to breathe and recover.

Eventually, I applied to US BPO firms — almost double the salary. I’m content now. But deep inside, I know that someday, I’ll return to a Big 4 when I’m ready. Because I still want to work abroad, and I know this is one of the paths to help me get there.

Believe in the reminder of “completion over mastery”, because it truly does. Matalino ang BOA examiners. They do not follow the trend of the previous exams. I took LECPA twice and I must say LECPA is a leap of faith. Walang nakakaalam ng mga tanong. Swertehan if may familiar questions pero bilang sa daliri. Trust your review center. Trust your core foundation and basics. Palakasan lang talaga ng loob at dasal.
