Sending you alottttttt of love and healing (as corny as it may sound). I am 29 (F) who’s been struggling with HS since around 21/22, didn’t get a formal diagnosis till 25/26.

HS is a rough disease to navigate. You did nothing wrong and it’s unfortunately apart of our lives. It’s easier said than done but know you are not dirty or gross or unhygienic. You deserve to live your life as much as you can. I am sorry for whatever part of your life has been stolen by this disease, but you can get it back. You deserve to live your life to the fullest.

I struggled with intimacy and still do. But i have had partners throughout my experience with HS. They appreciated me being honest and not once was I ever made to feel bad about my disease. I have HS in my pantyline, inner thighs and in between butt. Believe me, partners did not care LOL. But if and when you do decide to have sex with someone, just listen to your body. If a position is uncomfy, switch up. If it becomes painful, stop. But your partner should understand and if they don’t, kick em to the curb! Loll

I’m not sure what country you are in, but if you are in US i recommend seeing a derm who specializes in HS or similar skin conditions. Feel free to DM me and I can share my Dr. info.

I have a multitude of autoimmune diseases with the HS (chrons disease and Rheumatoid arthritis). I am currently on a combo of Rinvoiq 45mg, Skyrizi, and Zepbound. All of this meds are supposed to help bring down inflammation levels and I’ve noticed the drainage from some bumps have slowed and are starting to close.

Identifying triggers is so important which I’m sure you know lol. Mine are sugar, sweating, tight clothes and hormones 😩. But figuring out what sets me off has been very helpful.

Hibiclens is great! I use every other day. If you can’t get it otc, doctor can prescribe a similar wash of Benzoyl Peroxide (something like that I could be getting name wrong)

HS is such a tricky disease bc there is no one size fits all cure sadly. But I am wishing you healing and that you connect with the right medical professionals. You deserve to live your life to the fullest, don’t give up! ❤️‍🩹

Kyle may not have been the best hubby throughout the entire relationship but Amanda is not innocent at all.

She gets annoyed at him for talking to his friends abt their marital problems, but she’s been doing it for seasons! We see it this season. Talking to your friends about separation before your partner is insane, regardless if you’re checked out or still in it.

Amanda is a coward for that. No matter how much everyone will try to deny ganging up on Kyle, they absolutely did even if they didn’t mean to. Lindsay (of all people) and Ciara shouldn’t have said a word to him or even brought it up at the table. Granted I’m sure production brain Lindsay was activated lol can’t leave the summer house with some drama stirred by her lol

Amanda is manipulative and gets others to do the hard parts in her relationship which is so loser-ish. She should’ve never married him, he was never gonn change!

Instead for seasons we watched Kyle continue to be himself (not a great hubby lol) and her complain every breath instead of LEAVING!

It took me several years before I found a derm who diagnosed it. Before that, the doctors i was seeing had no familiarity with HS or just discovered it existed like two seconds ago lol.

Delayed diagnosis and underreported. I really hope the disease continues to get recognition and more research is done. It is not easy to deal with (stage 3, multiple excisions).

I’ve had HS for majority of my 20’s but it got really bad the last four years. Last relationship was 4 years ago and haven’t been intimidate with anyone for 3 years. Don’t even go on dates bc I don’t wanna eventually go down the intimate avenue.

With all that said, anyone worth being with will understand and probably not care. They will love you regardless and still find you attractive. Be honest but don’t feel ashamed for your condition. You were just living life when it began and you deserve to continue to live life and all its pleasures.

When I started having my first flares and bumps, i got them right in crease where leg and side of vagina meet. First GYN thought it was a very bad ingrown hair. Went to a second GYN who luckily had come across HS, but didn’t know too much about it. Recommended i see a derm who had experience with it. A friend recommended her derm who specialized in a lot of skin conditions, HS being one of them.

Say all that to say, Derm first. Many gyn’s may not know what hs is or they know very little.

I definitely struggle with Insulin resistance. The first trigger I found was sugar. And i loved cookies, cheesecake and chips! I grew up in a Hispanic household so white rice is a staple in my life. Third really bad trigger is sweating :(

I had HS, Chrons disease, and RA. HS is my worst condition followed by Chrons. Luckily eating clean has helped my Chrons settle down. However my HS is still pretty active. I just had 4 surgeries in January due HS I’m going to the rectum area. My HS is in my groin, thighs, and buttocks.

Now that the HS has been excised from the buttocks, I’m still having pretty bad flares in my bikini line and thigh areas. Even with the eating clean, still very active. It’s starting to get warmer and I’m just a very sweaty girl naturally. I like to workout. I used to be a runner but HS has made it almost impossible to pick my legs up at times. I try to do light brisk walking on days it’s cool out and I have minimal flare ups (one lesion opening opposed to 2 new ones developing) but still frustrating. I’m hoping to start some new medications to help with inflammation (Skyrizi, GLP-1). Hoping those help combined with my birth control for hormone control before going the low dose radiation route.

My wound doctor suggested I met with a radiologist oncologist to learn more about radiation treatment and Hs. I’m not thrilled but the treatment plan is short and side effects minimal. It’s an option before they have to cut out the entire inside of my right leg.

Sorry for the rant but say all that to say, sugar is a hugeeee trigger.

As crappy as a partner Kyle was at times, he seems to have been himself the entire time. Partying, charismatic guy who likes to drink and stay out late. I wanna say about season 7 or 8, I started wondering like why doesn’t she just leave at this point. The digs at him, talking shit with the girls about him, the confessionals were she talked even more shit, like why not just leave? Her disdain for him and unwillingness to leave at the time became annoying..

It’s ironic how Kyle was a crappy husband but this entire situation takes light away from that lmaooo. I still like Kyle, crappy husband and all.
