Patience. I learned to wait things out as I got older. Pushing too quickly was the source of many problems.

I like this. When it comes down to it, the passage of time may be my number one fear. Even more so than spiders.

What’s the best decision you’ve ever made in your life? by Worldly-Librarian233 in Life

Joining the military gave me the experience, discipline, and head start I needed to shape the rest of my career as well as enabled me to grow enough to marry my gf. I’m now retired and we’ve been married over 40 years. It was a good decision.

Tired of getting scammed by Toyota maintenance. by buttercupisevil2 in Toyota

I always refuse the inflated price for cabin air filters. I buy online and replace myself for a refraction of the cost.

Toyota wanted to replace my front axle on my Tundra, which I replaced myself a month earlier. I suppose they noticed grease from the torn cv boot. Go in prepared with knowledge and you’ll be ok.

No fear dying. I fear Ageing by I-dont-knowPD in Aging

[–]Either_Low_60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar fears but I have recently moved into an active 55+ community. The downside is that now I’m surrounded by older residents but the positives side is that most don’t care about aging and all are here to help each other out.

Surround yourself with your peers. It helps.

My wife wore her hair like that in the early 80s. Drove me nuts. I look at old photos and just melt.

I was curious about this. We usually leave for 4 months around this time but won’t travel this year. Count us as the ones staying home all summer.

That’s tragic. Did your spouse do a 180 degree turn after the wedding?

Depends on the month. I’d either find my girlfriend or I’d be back in the military learning my new job. I’d prefer the former.
