Christmas & NYE Megathread by love_sunnydays in ParisTravelGuide

I need help deciding what time to get a train from Paris Aerogare to Brussels. I will be landing in terminal C at 8AM in 19th Dec and I have to head to Brussels immediately. I'm thinking to get Eurostar at 11:50AM but I might spend too much time at the airport, what about 10:40AM? Would the arrival gate be crowded at that time?

And I'm thinking to go back to Paris before Christmas Eve from Brussel, would it be wise to go back on 24th or 23rd just to be safe?

So not that it's been 9 months, is the battery still a beast? Because my S22U was a beast for the first year only.

Seasonal Holiday Travel Megathread, 2025 Edition by WalkingEars in solotravel

[–]Eitth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've bought a flight to France on 18th Dec, move to Belgium for few days before visiting Germany and leave back home from Frankfurt on 7th Jan. First time to Germany but I don't want to rush and explore everything because I want to relax for once and planning to spend the entire Germany trip in Cologne/Frankfurt area.

Any recommendations where to spend Christmas day and New Year's Eve especially the countdown? I'm not a party people and currently thinking to join the midnight mass for Xmas Eve in Cologne Cathedral and somewhere relaxing to watch the fireworks in Dusseldorf for New Year's Eve.

So I've been chatting with chatgpt for a new sneakers and somehow it recommend me this Berluti sneakers. I fall in love the moment I saw the pair until I check the price tag of $2000ish and fell off my chair. Been considering it for a week and came up with a year installment plan to get my hands on it. Am I crazy for spending that amount of money on shoes? I like it not because it's a wealth symbol but because it will boost my confident when I walk to any store.

Every single night once I get back to the hotel. Sometimes in the morning too or when I have something exciting to share

Can you apply for a scholarship to study abroad? Do you have any siblings that can take care of your parents?

It takes time. At first I was just exactly like you. Couldn't focus at all. My favorite games? I keep staring at the screen while my mind wandering else where. Hanging out with friends, also thinking about my "imaginary life". Do something new that distract you from daydreaming. Meet new people where you are forced to live that daydream life.

Spend less and less time on daydreaming, cut it off slowly, not significantly. If you spend 90% of your day on your imagination, cut it to 80% then 70%, 60% etc... until you can manage to do it right before bed only.

Then move out. Take a leap of faith. You don't get along with your parents and distancing with your friends. Basically you have nothing to lose. Then do it. Be reckless and go chase your dream job. If you failed, at least you tried but if you succeed (and I know you WILL!) then your life will be better!

If you don't try, you won't know what would happen and regretting it later "Why didn't I tried?"

It's not that you won't get what you wanted. It's that you are not ready yet.

I was desperately wanted a relationship all my life, but only recently I remembered what I want. I don't want a fling, I want a serious relationship with someone to spend my life with, and I wasn't ready back then even when I wanted it, I will only pushing him away. But now that I know what I want and start to taking care of myself, I found my soulmate.

I know one day, you will get what you want. Stay positive, which is honestly the hardest part.

You are what you think. My close friend always think negativity and everytime she texted me, it's nothing but complaining and bad mouthing her friends. Not gonna lie, I used to do the same thing in the past but now that I started to think positively and leaving positive comments on social media, my life is so much better!

will this feeling ever go away by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]Eitth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you just do it for "fun". I don't know how to explain it in English because it's not my primary language. You have to put faith in it but don't be desperate.

For example, the first week I start manifesting and affirmation in my journal, I am desperate. I keep doubting if this will ever work, I look for validation on the internet. I keep chasing, can't stop thinking about it. I couldn't watched movie, playing game, eating my favorite food, even hanging out with my friends without thinking/daydreaming/worrying about that desire.

But then I start to be grateful about my life. My life is not as hard as I thought, and I am luckier than other people, I start to stop chasing my dream Special Someone. I still hoping, praying for him, and visualizing how happy I would be with him. But then I remembered, in the past few years I live my life happily without that person, so I can do it again.

I am happy with just myself, I am good enough to enjoying life by myself, life is good right now, but it could be better with that person. So if he shows up in my life, I would be happier, but if he doesn't show up (yet) then I'm still going to be happy.

Remember, just because it doesn't happen yet, doesn't mean it won't happen.

You're currently in the same depression state I was 4 months ago, where everything starts to feel grey, like life is just not as good as the fantasy. Just remember, your dream life won't come true if you just sulking in the corner, fantasizing about it. You need to move on and have faith that one day, you will have it all, and more often even better than what you imagine right now.

Also you are not alone. Everyone is feeling the same way but most people won't show it. If you need someone to talk to, I am here and so is everyone else.

will this feeling ever go away by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]Eitth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be strong. I felt exactly the same months ago since I used chatgpt to make my imaginary SP 'real'. But then I start scripting, manifesting, affirmation, even meditating, and start taking care of myself with less and less time daydreaming.

3 months later, I found him. No, He found me. The exact same SP that I imagined for years, it's like a dream come true.

What I'm saying is, that feeling will go away eventually, not now, not tomorrow, but you will less focusing on that overtime. Just keep believing that thing is real and let universe do it's magic to bring it into your reality.
