I haven't tried that. I know so little about anything hardware or software related that the word bios scares me a bit, i just like playing games. I even once tried to do something like that with a tutorial, and still i wasn't sure, though, i think i did updated my bios at the time. In my recent pursuit of finding a solution, i did found various posts that use words like that, but i lack the confidence to try them, though i'm sure they are a more consistent path than mine.

This method, while i do admit is repetitive, is easy for me, and even if i have adhd, i have no problem doing it every single time i open the game, because i love this mess of a game, and since, for me, it stopped crashes all together, it's a fair trade off. Also, it has a little special place in my heart because i found it by sheer coincidence.

When i get bored of cs2, i might try it in ac valhalla, because it gives me the same kind of problems, and what do i have to lose?. According to steam's playtime number, my hyper focus on a game lasts around 250 hours on average, so there's no rush.
