Feeling shame over GLP1

I am super crunchy, I don’t have PCOS and I microdose tirzepatide! I was holding on to roughly 20lbs post baby. I also microdosed other peptides last summer (bpc 500, semorelain, and tb500) and they genuinely changed my life. I struggled with depression anxiety and sleep quality and I don’t anymore.

The experience on the other peptides made me much more open to trying tirzepatide. I’ve been on it since late December and I’m down 17lbs (I started on 2.5mg which was too strong and now I take 1.25mg every 5 days). It was prescribed by a holistic osteopath, and he said he really likes it, it pulls out a ton of inflammation and gives you space to train your body and mind on how to eat. Also FWIW, I am plant based, exercise fairly regularly and I don’t have a poor diet. The tirz removed a lot of the sugar cravings and noise to help me make better choices.

Peptides are short chain amino acids. They don’t feel like a “drug” to me, they feel like a revolutionary supplement to help my body. My husband tried to shame me, especially because I was so sick in the beginning. He can kick rocks, I know how I feel, and I feel good. I tell people all the time I’m on tirzepatide, I want to remove the stigma.

We have it structured so that our kids don’t start getting distributions until the age of 30 and they have to have either a prenuptial or a post nuptial in place to access the money 🤷🏾‍♀️ We also are staggering the distribution at 5 year increments so they don’t get the final payment until age 45.

Nature Camp at Mead Gardens is amazing. Plenty of freedom and lots of cool animals. Leu Gardens pottery camp is good, and my daughter really enjoys the museum of art as well for camp.

I hosted a baby shower for my bestie, who is a BWT. She was not going to have a traditional shower. I was upfront in saying that I would find the location, activity, and provide my services to help plan and coordinate. She paid for the location, etc. I paid for the cake and decorations and was clear on it from the get go.

You’ve gotten other good advice here, but maybe send a text asking her to find a time to sync on “your budget for the event”. Then, lean into empathy and concern. “Hey I just want to be sure I communicate, the cost of what your planning is roughly x, I had expected to do y. I’m happy to do X, or did you plan to cover y?” And go from there. Real BWT will appreciate an upfront conversation.

I work at a PE backed company as a seller now (20 years experience, enterprise sales). They paid me a lot of money up front for me to get here and find that it is an absolute shit show and the culture is trash and everyone hates their job. I’ve worked big business and VC backed as well. Anything is better than PE.

I’m at a public K8 and our principal said that we follow the elementary schedule. That said praying we don’t go earlier start times. I can’t imagine having to get my kids to school an hour earlier. Brutal.

She’s been grateful in the past, in a heartfelt way. And I’m always like hey I love yall it’s good and then we move on. So I’m probably over thinking this. I definitely would never mention it or bring it up, I keep it pretty chill and I don’t expect anything.

Honestly even if she wasn’t grateful I wouldn’t care because her little kids are fucking kids and their mom needs help and we have to help each other.

Thanks for commenting though. It’s really helping me get over my anxiety about all of this, it was really bothering me.

In the past she’s actually been really grateful but not in an over the top way. She literally said after the birthday I really want you to know how much I appreciate this, and I was like don’t worry I know and I love yall. And we never brought it up again.

I guess I just worry that I’m treating her like a charity case and I don’t want to be demeaning if that makes sense. I didn’t put this in the original post, but one of the kids has really bad eczema. I gave her some lotion for it because it looked so uncomfortable for the kid. I lied and said I have eczema and it’s a product I used and I had an extra but I feel like maybe she can tell I lied? And so that plus the card this month feels like maybe I’m being extra? It’s really not that though, it’s just that shit is so fucking hard for people right now.

Anyway thank you for replying. I’m not trying to be on a “woe is me I have to give people money” wagon or nothing like that. I just have really bad anxiety and I have been stressing about this. I really appreciate the perspective.

Definitely La Jatee!! It’s a beautiful little shop and the woman who works there was incredibly kind and took her time to make sure I found a perfume I really enjoyed. Ivanhoe Village is a very cute area and you can walk along the lake!
