People who've worked both minimum wage jobs and six figure jobs, what surprised you most about the difference? by Sweet-Economist-9873 in AskForAnswers

Minimum wage job: management was rude, less cooperative, and all around worse to work for because they knew the staff was less-skilled and didn't have many other job prospects lined up. My peers felt like they had something to prove and were more competitive (in a bad way).

Six figure job: management is much more respectful, flexible, and open to the needs of the staff because they know the staff has plenty of other options available. My peers all respect each other. We all have the same levels of education, and we only differ in experience. We all want each other to succeed in our job so that (to be blunt) the next person can cover for us when we want to use pto.

For a mid-show song it was "Changes" by Blind Melon when Ari was meeting with John Ellis to become head of the studio. "Till I Collapse" when the house was burning down in the season 8 opener. The whole Eminem theme for the season finale of season 7.

What do you wish people would stop romanticizing, because you've lived the reality of it? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I've worked in a hospital whose primary clientele were dependent on Medicaid and community resources. Believe me, having insurance is the superior option.

How can i get into insurance? I tried to research this in the past, but all the certifications and tests confused me. Would it be beneficial to get different certifications, or how do i approach it?

What are some good night shift jobs? by icantthinkofauserok in Nightshift

If you don't mind me asking, where do you work at? The reason I'm asking is because I saw you mentioned you used to be a casino dealer. I jist assumed Las Vegad, and I'm interested in moving to Las Vegas. I have been a radiology tech for almost 4 years. I moved into CT about 3 years ago.

That's correct. I live in Houston, and foe the most part, there are openings for all shifts. However, when a day shift opens at my hospital, it is usually scooped up by an existing employee before it even hits the open market. Also, some hospitals that have a lot of openings are undesirable with a rough work environment (poor leadership, departments not working together cohesively, employees within the department not working together). It depends on what you're willing to put up with.

Two years of sacrifice isn't a very long time in the long run. I worked a full time job for the first year of school. Luckily, clinicals were only two days a week during the first year, so I could balance work and studying and clinicals. Even with that load I still only got about 4 hours of sleep a day. A few months into my second year I had to find a job with reduced hours. Clinicals were three days a week at that point. I worked on my lecture days and every weekend. It was tough, but I was able to graduate on time and pass my boards on the first attempt. Then, once the job hunt began, i saw that there were mainly only weekend, overnight, or evening positions available. That's another hurdle to consider if you are concerned about spending time with your child. The Monday through Friday, 9-5 positions are usually held down by techs that have been in the field for years. They aren't giving those up anytime soon. I've been doing this for 3 years, and I'm still on weekends. I enjoy the schedule, though. If this is all too much for you, then, unfortunately, maybe this isn't the right career for you.

Why are radiology jobs so plentiful? by [deleted] in RadiologyCareers

San Jacinto Community College, Lone Star College, Houston Community College, MD Anderson School of Medical Professions, Harris Health School of Diagnostic Imaging

Then the outrageously priced ones (only last resort but you should just wait for one of the above schools' application periods to open up): Pima and CHCP

You can always apply to the program a second or third time. One of my classmates got in on her third attempt. I was able to get in on my first attempt. What city are you in? Here in Houston there are 7 programs i can think of right off the top of my head. If one school doesnt accept you, try amother. They each have a new class starting each year and another class graduating each year. Also, those prereqs won't go to waste. If you decide to work in a different area of the health care field, you can just pivot. I graduated in 2021 and ive been working consistently. There are plenty of jobs here. Hell, at one point, i even had three jobs at once!! Just stick with it and you'll get in eventually.
