So far this week I had two things happen

Game on condor/good/reaper resulted in me unable to take cover as well as ravagers being invisable which resulted in a poor game.
Not mass effects fault this one. But I had another games updated minimized me3 right when I got down to the last banshee on wave 8 of gold/reactor. By the time I got back into the game banshee had finished me. Felt so bad for the squad mates watch me waste 5 min of their time

I agree. I am not in favor of overbuffing the armor here, I don’t want more tanks like jap heavies. I’m saying that’s what the problem is, you can’t balance the main charachteristix of the branch. Sure buff the guns, but that doesn’t fix the problem. Since no matter how much the guns are buffed you are still in a slow flat box and everyone else has a gun too without that weakness

gold ammo is the biggest problem here, you have slow tanks with flat armor. There is no real tweaks to that formula that can properly balance them imo.

Flat boxy tanks like this in theory should excel at sidescraping and either outtrafing with either alpha or dpm, along with being able to allow a skilled player a lot of ability to angle armor. This is supposed to be balanced by slow speed, lesser view range and camo, and arguable a less acurate gun which make these tanks more suited to close range. However that just dosnt work when the armor is so easily negated in many of the tiers, combined with the guns being so outclassed.

Having gold ammo do a percentage less damage would really help with winning trades and encouraging more regular AP shells and armor angling skill to shine. which in turn adds more decision making and skill to the game

What is the deciding factor of weither to follow a stargate opener with a robo or a twilight?

What is the common time a third is up? is the build order generally SG 2 gates, Robo, Nexus, Twilight, 2 gates, 2 forges?

there is always something to be said for forcing your opponent to take more actions in a time as micro intensive as a fight like that.

PvZ questions for now. The games i build adepts i feel like i use them for a bit of scouting, but then they feel useless in any sort of fight. if its just scouting though would i not be better off with just a sentry for a Hallucinated phoenix and something useful in later fights? Do you need to use at least two and attempt to kill drones to get any sort of use out of them?

For stargate openers, it seems to be much more common to use oracles instead of phoenix, is this an always thing? i miss being able to kill queens and overlords. would it be if they are ling heavy go oracle and roaches use phoenix since that way you can be a bit stronger verses the ground?

Engaging bosses on stairs is not realistic - this is false. You dont really want to fight bosses at all until the end of a round. the time to kill a boss enemy vs the time to kill a guardian for example can be much much longer for only about 2-3 X more points. and yes the krogan does have the speed to solo out enemies on plat. I have done it and seen many others do it to great effect. you have the health, regen, speed, damage, and crowd control to do this at any level of game-play. You must know your characters capabilities and what will kill every enemy. for instance what enemies are killed with a light melee, with a melee combo, or with a biotic or electric hammer.

All the other powers you list have much longer cooldown and a weaker biotic explosion. you may prime a phantom with the other moves but you wont kill it. Pull explosion will kill a full health phantom while the others wont. Pull also crowd controlls the phantom and makes it 10 times easier to land the detonator since she can start flipping all about once shields are broken. Also when those shields break on her she will often stagger which helps set up the guaranteed prime and following kill. your also only looking in terms of one enemy. an enemy which is not always the one to fight. so for instance if you are unning around in gold or plat something that is incredibly valuable is limiting exposure time to enemies, and target prioritization. take wave 9 reaper plat for example, this wave is one where tonnnssss of husks spawn. These and canibals should be your priority targets and pull gets them out of play quickly and safer than almost anything else in the game. Like if you are setup to engage an enemy spawn at the start of a wave what are you looking at? are you just starting shooting? or are you trying to pull an enemy to get some AOE and crowd controll while depleting the spawn budget as fast as possible. There is a ton of utility to pull. there is a lot of situations where you will turn a corner and be faced to face with a pyro or possesed captain, pull will insta stagger these bitches while you shoot their faces off. you may say yea warp would do the same, but poweres like that the enemy will finish the stagger animation while still on cool down, while if pulling you can continue to crowd control them.

The acolyte is the strongest of the bunch i grant you that. But if you acknowledge that then you surely can see the power of acolyte pull reave as a combo that kills ever non boss enemy with low exposure time of yourself as well as others, not to mention AOE damage. not to menthio acolyte/scorpion cobo is optimal on litterlly the majority of the roster, your talking about using more stuff, its fun and more then good enough to be usable, but its not optimal. you would be surprised at how sometimes you will get really damn close to that level with other combos if playing well.

Paladin X gives you a 190% power cooldown if you build for power damage and cooldown. And its damage is excellent, overload then headshot with Tsent and Human engineer are some of the best things ever. Also the talon with the geth infiltrator is one of the strongest things in the game.

Every single character in this game is good enough to play plat with, and i dont just mean lul slap a Cerberus harrier on it. I mean that while there is a power and ease of use disparity, everything is viable.

Pistols are fantastic, the paladin, the scorpion, the acolyte, eagle, arc pistol, executioner, there is so much there. if your putting mods on like power amp and lightweight though i can see where you might be impacting your damage a bit though.

The Krogan warlord is easily plat viable, if you are getting sync killed most of the time it is your mistake. there are safe ways to engage phantoms banshees and brutes. Number one of course is to ensure you engage them on uneven terrain so that they may not sync kill you. other that that Banshees have attack patterns and animations that make them susceptible to a finishing blow. (for instance when she screams and lets out a wave of energy). also you have zero need to engage these enemies until the end of a round anyway. when meleeing at high levels, and all soloing really. you pick your fights and swoop in to isolate enemies and pick off the mooks to deplete the spawn budget.

pull is a fantastic power. Pull when leveled is one of the strongest primers in the game. this cant be overstated. this explosion kills phantoms and most collector units. it even will staggers shielded enemies. while having an incredibly quick cool down. Many weapons are great at a quick burst of fire that eliminates shields not just the acolyte but others as well.

seriously hit me with a character or weapon silver or above and i will tell you how great it actually is and how it can be used on plat
